We visited this restaurant for lunch after 1 PM, and it was bustling with activity. The parking lot in front of the restaurant was completely full, a clear sign of its popularity among the locals. While the interior design of the restaurant is simple and unpretentious, it’s evident that their focus is entirely on delivering high-quality food and exceptional flavors. What stood out to me was the attentive involvement of the owners, who were actively present in the dining area, managing operations and interacting with customers to ensure everything was running smoothly. This personal touch created a welcoming and well-organized dining experience.
Among the side dishes, I especially enjoyed their marinated crab (게장), which was a delightful addition to the meal. I ordered the 돌솥 비빔밥 (stone pot bibimbap), and it was absolutely excellent—perfectly prepared with fresh ingredients and served piping hot, just as it should be. It’s always heartening to see a restaurant gain a strong reputation for its dedication to quality and taste, and I’m glad to have had the opportunity to experience it myself. This is definitely a spot I’d recommend and look forward...
Read moreA soft four stars. It seems like the soups, stews, and hotpots are very popular here (or maybe it's just cold outside?). The most common entrees we saw people order were beef related dishes (short ribs, ribs, ssambap, etc.). We ordered the seafood pancake, seafood tofu soup, galbi, and ugeoji galbitang. The seafood pancake was a bit too thick and soft for our liking. Seafood tofu soup was mediocre. Our favorite was the ugeoji galbitang-- it was very hearty and we enjoyed the homestyle taste. The ribs were very tender. The galbi was a little less than average for us-- it didn't taste like it was marinated for a long time.
The side dishes really elevated the meal. We liked the variety and they tasted fresh.
They were slammed on a Sunday night. Service was slow, and we're pretty sure two parties of the same size got seated before us. The explanation was that they "wanted to give us a bigger table". The private rooms are nice until you feel like they've forgotten about you on...
Read moreExtremely authentic! I don't have much to go on because, outside of Korea BBQ and street food I am not too familiar with Korean food. That being said, this is a great place to start!
It may seem a little overwhelming at first. They don't have many non-Korean diners I think, so it can be a little hard to communicate... They staff, though, is extremely friendly, accommodating, and helpful. They menu has decent English descriptions, but if you are not familiar with Korean food like myself, be sure to ask if entrees are served hot or cold... I was certainly surprised when my soup came out with ice cubes in it, hah! Very good, if a little stingy with the meat. The fried dumplings were very good. And trust me, you will not leave hungry!
Again, very authentic and delicious. I can not overstate how helpful the staff was when it came to helping me figure everything out, and just downright friendly! Will...
