The Shawarma Spot — Restaurant in Duluth

We tried the beef steak platter and loaded Shawarma fries at newly opened The Shawarma Spot at Sugarloaf Mills and had mixed feelings. Unfortunately, the beef was very salty, not tender, and quite chewy/stretchy, which made it hard to enjoy. It was also served cold initially, but when I mentioned it to one of the staff members, she was kind enough to remake it. The second serving was hot, which I appreciated, but still had the same saltiness and tough texture. I’d really encourage management to take a closer look at the quality and preparation of the meat.

That said, service was excellent—the staff was friendly, and my order was ready in under 10 minutes. Definitely a 10/10 on service.

Cleanliness was also impressive. The kitchen area looked clean, and while I ate in the food court seating area, everything seemed well-maintained. Another solid 10/10.

The portion size, especially the protein, felt small for the $14 price tag. If the flavor and texture were better, I’d feel more comfortable with the cost. I’d rate the value at 6/10.

Location-wise, it’s a great spot inside Sugarloaf Mills Mall, perfect for Halal food seekers in the area. Definitely a welcome addition—10/10...

Today, my daughters and I visited The Shawarma Spot at Sugarloaf Mills Mall, and we had such a lovely experience! We tried the chicken shawarma, chicken tenders platter, and the chicken Philly burger—and everything was absolutely delicious! The food was fresh, flavorful, and honestly a solid 10/10.

At first, I accidentally ordered the regular Philly burger, thinking it was chicken, but when I opened it, I realized it was beef—and I don’t eat beef. I went back to the restaurant and explained the situation to the manager, Mr. Asif, and I was truly impressed by his kindness and patience. Even though it was my mistake, he smiled and happily made me a fresh chicken Philly burger with fries. That kind of customer service is rare and deserves to be appreciated!

The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was outstanding (10/10), and most importantly, everything is Halal—which means so much to us as a Muslim family. Finally, there’s a great Halal option at Sugarloaf Mall!

When I first went to the Sugarloaf Mill shopping mall, I visited this restaurant in the food court and was met with halal food and a very respectful, polite, and friendly attitude from the gentleman who worked there. The quality of the food was excellent, the price was reasonable, and the restaurant and bar were very clean. They strictly follow hygiene rules and use gloves to serve food to customers. These reasons have made me choose this restaurant to eat at every time I go to this mall. I thank the management and restaurant staff, And if I go to this shopping center again, I will definitely choose only this restaurant to eat. Customer service and cleanliness of the restaurant are very important to me.
