Hong Dae Korea is not a pleasant environment. They have favoritism over certain people that work there. They seem like they want everybody to be depressed and not talk to each other because supposedly it’s bad to talk to each other when literally I see all other girls talking and talking in other shifts and they only addressed the situation to one or two people that work there about this how come they don’t say anything to those other girls instead of just one person, that is not fair that’s having favoritism over the workers. They come and tell us oh you need to do exactly like this the portions with the bowls this and that when customers are literally complaining about the portions and saying they’re small and I’m happy people are giving this place one star and saying stuff about their portions because the need to learn to stop telling workers stuff about portions when it’s the thing people are complaining about the most and they complain about the quality in the service because they want to Address issues only to one person but not the rest of the people that work there too that’s having favoritism over workers and that’s not fair. Don’t go to Hong Dae Korea to eat because either way the food is not that good. They act like everything is top this and that and it’s not so I don’t recommend it and don’t go bad quality bad customer service favoritism everywhere in the work environment bad working environment and the owners when they don’t like a person they treat people like...
Read moreWe came here for lunchtime and the food was great. The lady who helped us (Forgot her name ) Was very helpful and let us know that we could split the meat for the bowl. We got the bowl with half chicken and half beef bulgogi. She gave us two small portions of each meat. It reminded us of chipotle with a twist. We inquired about the Ttekobokki and they said it comes with the rice cakes and eggs it was cooked with. We decided to wait to try that and instead went with Korean Fried Chicken. Later on for dinner we decided to come back with the kids (same day) so they could try it and somehow all the prices were different. They said the Tteokbokki doesn’t come with the eggs and the eggs are $1 extra each egg. Also they charged us to split the meat even though the portion size was the same. We told them we were just here for lunch and they specifically told us the prices/menu item details because it was our first time here so the staff earlier took the time to explain it all to us. When we asked about the Tteokbokki on the menu, the man (assuming manager) said that their menu was wrong. So overall the second experience left a very bad impression on us. They were inconsistent with the service and pricing even though we revisited on the same day. We will...
Read moreThis isn't Korean food. It's a great idea with awful execution. If management truly believes this tastes anywhere near like Korean flavors, then COVID is still in control of their taste buds. For the population that have never tried Korean food before, they are going to try this and walk away disappointed and not ever trying actual Korean food again, which is tragedy on many levels.
They have kids working who weren't taught how to pronounce Korean menu items and we all know kids these days severely lack critical thinking, so they're too lazy to study anything for survival with their it-doesn't-matter logic.
They have Spanish workers that call out udon orders as ramen, which confuses customers, leaving them still waiting on their order to be called. Items come out looking nothing like the picture. Worse, they barely project their voice when speaking for the environment layout, so customers could be sitting at a distance that will never hear their order.
Great Idea - Horrible Execution...
I don't want to hear the excuse that this is mall food and quality is supposed to be trash. That's how losers think and losers fail. Ask the last place that rented...
