Finally took my husband here as this has been one of my favorites for the last 15 years. I wish that I had not talked it up so much as he wasn't all that impressed. I made reservations however we still had to wait about 20 minutes, the hostess was not nice at all and was more interested in playing on her phone and flirting with her co worker. My husband tried getting a drink from the bar while we waited and the bartender made eye contact several times but never asked to help him or get him a drink. So he gave up on it after standing there the full time we were waiting to be seated. Once we got seated it took about another 30 minutes for someone to come to our table (after having to ask another server who would be serving us.) From there the server came out and apologized and said she didn't know she had a table. (She only walked past us like 10 times.) She was attentive and friendly once she began to serve us. All of the food was very slow to arrive to our table. Salads and croissants were yummy, I had chopped steak and it was over salted and overcooked. My husbands steak was ordered Medium Rare and it came out Medium +. Due to length of time the food took to come out, we were not going to send them back so we ate them. We did order dessert thinking it would come out faster than the others did.... nope, it took a long while as well. It was tasty but by the time it arrived the table we were basically over the dining experience here. Then it was the typical scenario where the server disappears when you want the check, then when you get the check and just want to pay and leave. - Ugh! We were not in a hurry by no means, the restaurant was not full or that busy but things were moving extra slow this night and it was quite disappointing. In the past, this place felt like 5 star dining and now I would say it's moved way down. Doesn't feel like anything special or like fine dining. Their to-go orders seemed to be their main focus over the ones actually dining. Also where our table was we could see the kitchen and the cooks and where the servers would get drinks. Most servers were just standing there socializing and on their phones vs checking on their tables. As we walked out, we could see the same frustration on others faces who were dining. Sad to say that I won't be making a trip back here. It's a solid hour drive for me and I would rather go somewhere else that appreciates my business and is still on point with their food, service and morale.

I moved to Georgia last year and was happy to find a restaurant that my entire family loves. This changed when the waitress that served me at the bar one day, followed me out to my car, hurriedly, and accused me of not paying for my meal.

After having lunch at the bar, I left payment/tip on the bar counter, next to my plate and left the restaurant. As I'm approaching my car, the waitress then runs behind me yelling, "Ma'am you didn't pay for your meal !." I was so embarrassed because there were two other patrons in the parking lot who witnessed it all. I explained to her that the money was left in plain view on the bar counter. She obviously didn't believe me because she had me go back into the restaurant to "prove" to her I'd paid my bill. She even tried to make me feel as though I was being unreasonable for being embarrassed and caught off guard.

As we arrive back inside the restaurant, she approached the bar and saw the money on the counter. What bothered me most about the incident is that she stated she did not confirm whether the money was there before she ran out to my car and accused me of not paying.

The bar was not busy. If it weren't for the rude service I received from her throughout my experience there, I'd probably look at this as a small oversight on the waitress's part. I always try to believe the best in people because I'd hate to falsely accuse anyone of anything. But sadly in this case, it was overt racial profiling. I was a great customer spending upwards of $300 per month at Joey Ds most months. I feel embarrassed saying that but I'm a full time mother, wife, law student and businesswoman. So, Joey D's had become a staple in my home.

Anyway, about an hour later, I called to inform the manager of the situation. He was very condescending and showed no concern whatsoever but rather defended the waitresses claim that there was no racial bias involved in the situation and was really aggressive with me over the phone. I also requested the general manager contact me when it became clear the manager was disinterested. It's been well over a month since the incident and still no acknowledgent. Can't find a word to describe how disappointed I am in management. Please be better at ensuring "all" patrons are treated with decency and respect.

Update 4/8/2022

No one has reached out to me here or otherwise. I noticed that this establishment is one that's keen on replying to the 5 star reviews but seems to blatantly disregard the negative feedback. Thats obviously a huge problem. Your patrons deserve your acknowledgent whether they have a good or...

My wife and I booked a reservation to try a new restaurant while visit the perimeter area in Atlanta. The customer service and ambience was a 5/5. We were greeted and seated immediately and our server was very well trained. He provided a thorough explanation of the restaurant, because we stated it was our first time visiting, and exceptionally described the menu options. He recommended an app and a few drinks to get started, which we ordered, and then took our dinner order. Everything up until this point was exceptional. The honey buttered croissants came out and were amazing! Then our drinks came out, I ordered an old fashion and my wife ordered a Manhattan. My old fashion was good, my wife's Manhattan was terrible. It was very bitter and was not enjoyable at all. Next our steaks came out. We both ordered the Delmonico, cooked medium. Both of our steaks were under cooked and had blood running from them. I told my server about this and he proceeded to argue with me about what a Medium steak looks like. After a few seconds he took the steaks and then the manager came to our table, apologized for the inconvenience and proceeded to explain, again, what a medium steak was to me as if I this was the very first time I ordered a medium steak. I told her that I always order my steaks medium and understand that the center will be pink but I did not want raw meat and blood running from my steak. After a minute or two of back and forth she left and came back with two more steaks. The new steaks were inedible. My steak was very well done and my wifes' was still cooked medium rare. However, even if they got the temperatures correct on the cook time, the quality of the steaks were very tough. We ultimate left very dissatisfied and disappointed. The manager took the steaks off the ticket and we paid for our drinks and appetizers and left. I have no intentions of returning nor would I recommend. We were treated poorly and served a substandard product and then on top of all of that made to feel like it was our fault. Terrible,...
