In short: Really rude staff and unpleasant atmosphere but the food and beer are good. NOT DOG FRIENDLY. Staff member yelling at customers. Limited seating on the patio that doesn’t allow dogs and the other option on where to eat is a parking lot with plastic tables. I’ve never been upset after a restaurant experience before so I figured I should warn others to not waste their evening out at this place especially since Durango has multiple great breweries. I called ahead and asked if there is a wait and told them that we have 2 dogs with us. They said that there’s a short wait but that it’s all outside seating. When we arrived there AFTER we ordered and PAID the staff then told us dogs aren’t allowed on the patio and that they have to be tied outside of the patio. Outside the patio is completely unshaded and the fence is pretty closed off so the dogs would have to sit on the cement in the heat. I understand that not all restaurants allow dogs but let people know that. If you are not dog friendly, put that on your website or at a minimum, let people know that when they call ahead and tell you that they’re bringing dogs or before they order and pay for food especially if you’re standing there ordering and paying for your food with your dogs next to you. Once we realized that tying our dogs outside their patio is not going to work and tried to sit in the “open seating” area, which by the way is their parking lot, one of the staff yelled at us that the tables in the parking lot with chairs are not open seating. Finally, a group of customers who were sitting in one of the parking lot plastic tables offered to switch us for our patio table after overhearing the whole situation. The salad arrived and was missing the beets; otherwise, it was delicious. The wings aren’t bad. The Kolsch was delicious. While eating, rude staff member yelled at another group who accidentally tried to sit at a plastic table...
Read moreYou can safely remove this Brew pub from your bucket list. I had the hefeweizen and it was actually quite good, and true to form. However one of us had the pils, and it was infected. So that person switched over to the Kölch, and that was also infected. Serving one contaminated beer by accident could happen to anybody, however having two infected beers on the menu that is served to the public is just a sign of sloppiness and a lack of cleanliness in the brewery.
The staff was friendly enough.
One of us had the pasty, and it was billed as a " traditional" pasty. And although it tasted very nice, I suppose it really was traditional to the extent that it was made with beef that was so tough, it probably could serve as shoe leather. One of us had a bacon burger, that came out without any bacon, but was thoroughly burned as a consolation.
Meals are served in plastic baskets and the flatware was so comedically flimsy that the knife and fork were unable to cut through the dough on the pasty.
Overall, a solid single star, would probably be charitable.
Perhaps telling me, none of the people with whom we spoke were returned customers. However, I did hear one of the staff commenting that they do experience $6,000 days. Perhaps, they should take that and hire somebody to help them with...
Read moreIncredibly rude staff member. The redheaded guy who took my beer order was great, but the chubby, dark haired guy who was yelling at everyone including our party, made us decide not to order food and to go somewhere else. There was no one at the tables next to us, but little Napoleon still had to yell at us for being closer than 6 feet, then when I tried to go inside and place an order, he rudely stopped me and told me I had to go all the way around the building to the front and stand in line. They had no waitstaff, not even on the porch. It was pretty ridiculous.
My Nitro Stout was good, but for $5.50, it was a ripoff. At least serve it in a glass, not a plastic cup, and if that was more than 10 oz of beer, I would be surprised.
I understand the pandemic has people on edge and there are ludicrous mandates, etc, especially in Durango. But good lord, this business is a mess and there is never, ever a reason for any staff member, even the owner to treat customers like we and others were tonight.
I won't ever spend another dime there, and I will make sure to tell anyone who asks about places to go in Durango, stay away from...
