Toh-Atin Gallery — Attraction in Durango

One of the greatest things about an art gallery is that you not only have the option to purchase, but you can walk through and enjoy the amazing creativity.

This Gallery certainly does not disappoint with all that your eyes can take in.

Everything from craft art, to sculptures, to Wood, to native American pieces. Paintings, prints, and pottery. Even saddles, just to name a few items.

So very much just to take through and observe.

I have been to art galleries in the past where the staff thought that they were "better than you," and had this air of arrogance about them. The staff at the gallery HERE were so warm and friendly and inviting - it really made me want to look around longer, and made me comfortable looking at all of the incredible artwork.

There is an extremely racist caricature of an Indigenous person that the white owners have refused to remove regardless of Indigenous people asking them too. They always reply with how they chop wood and deliver it to the northern reservation as if that makes up for the racism they show. But when actual Indigenous people of the community and the surrounding areas ask them to remove the racist relic of the past, the words they speak fall on deaf ears. They are in it to profit off tribal art and nothing else. Please do not give them any of your business until they take down the caricature.
