This review is hard for me. We grew up in the QC going to Whitey's every chance we got and loving it. We moved away 35 years ago but return twice a year, and when we do Whitey's is always on our list of must go places. This week we went to Whitey's for turtle shakes, one of our favorites, taking them back to where we were staying to enjoy. The shakes were almost like vanilla ice cream with a few nuts sprinkled on top. We were disappointed but decided to return a few days later to give it another try, thinking that maybe we just hit a bad day. This time we ordered butterfinger shakes, took them back to enjoy, and found the same thing, vanilla ice cream with very little butterfinger. I know that inflation and the cost of supplies are going up so making a profit is hard, but Whitey's shakes are not the place to go cheap. They are world famous! Raise the price if needed but don't make a usually wonderful product become something that comes in second place to a DQ Blizzard. Of course we will return but hope the product is back to what...
Read moreWhitey’s is the place to be—hands down, no debate. If you’re visiting the Quad Cities, it’s basically a rite of passage to stop here. From classic scoops to creative shakes, they truly do it all.
If you’re just going for a scoop, the White Chocolate Raspberry is a can’t-miss—it’s smooth, sweet, and perfectly balanced. But if you’re feeling adventurous, go for one of their shakes. My top picks? The Lemon Bar Shake, Pineapple Upside Down Cake Shake, or the Turtle Shake. You really can’t go wrong.
This isn’t just the best ice cream in the QC—it’s easily some of the best ice cream anywhere. Whitey’s knows what they’re doing, and they do it with flavor, heart, and...
Read moreI wish Whiteys was an ice cream place that could sell nationwide! This would be so great especially in Florida, and any other hot tourist place! One taste of their ice cream will leave you wanting to make a return visit soon! I always say, you can tell of a great place, restaurant, by the cars lined up in the parking lot, and lots near by!! It's definitely worth the wait! Their shakes are so thick, they must be eaten with a spoon. You can tip them up side down, and they don't spill! They do have a drive thru which I prefer because I am handicap, and a patio to enjoy...
