First off, the place & location are great. I went after working midnights so I was very hungry and tired. It was around 9:30am, I saw salmon croquettes and was very disappointed that they were out of them so early in the morning. I ordered the shrimp/grits and I didn't like the look but tried them anyway. When the waitress inquired about how I liked everything, I was honest and explained that I didn't care for the red sauce, which appeared to be marinara or spaghetti sauce which in my opinion is not a good combination for grits. I only had one bite so I said I would try and see. I took another fork full and was done. It just wasn't for me. I asked for my check and at this point I felt the waitress should have offered me to try something else, but I got my check and paid. I was exhausted and just ready to go. I left with thoughts of giving them one more try. When I got home, I decided to call instead of writing review and asked for the Manager. Doug came on, I explained my experience with emphasis on being tired more than anything and my willingness to give them another try. I shared how many friends and coworkers look for restaurant referrals from me all the time. He obviously either didn't care or didn't listen to me. He pointed out that the shrimp and grits is their most popular item and told me that I should have spoke to them while I was there. UNBELIEVABLE!! I was exhausted and didn't like my food and still paid. I was trying to give a courtesy call instead of posting a review. There was no apologetic tone in his voice nor did I acknowledge any evidence that he cared. I'm not sure if Doug is the owner or manager; however, he should be very careful about having a mediocre attitude with ANY customer. You have no idea who I know and how large your establishment could have blown up just by a few calls. I really do wish the best for the restaurant but me and my entourage will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMaybe it's me but the ratings for this place should be higher. It's been about 2 years since I ate here and decided to come back and give it another try to see if it was still "good" from what I last remembered. Me and my husband order the "Spice Up Ya Life" omelette with the grits and also the peach cobbler french toast with chicken sausage (was a large sausage split open and cooked). our takeout total with their automatic %12 gratuity (about $4) came out to $47. we split both of the meals and it was plenty for both of us to share both meals which I liked because we got some of everything.
the flavor was 10s across the board and food taste twice as good as it did 2 years ago when I had it. Well seasoned. the coco bread as a Caribbean twist for french toast was amazing I was unsure of how they would be able to execute that but they did it seamlessly my husband is Jamaican (very critical of others food) and he was pleasantly surprised. we both really enjoyed it.
The grits were cooked to perfection, they weren't too thick they were not watery even as takeout when we got home it was still creamy, it had an extra pizazz to it not sure if any coconut milk or something was used but it was nice....so phenomenal job on whoever cooked it. they were seasoned to perfection not too salty not too bland which is hard for a lot of restaurants to do.
The food was so good I didn't even get a picture but we will be back sooner than later! 10s across the board. This is a smaller restaurant but it's not a big deal if it's a problem for you then get the food as takeout no need to rate it low for that. Only critic is have the young girl in the front taking orders/serving not wear her AirPods when assisting customers it unprofessional but she was nice and did give good recommendations. Big up yaself Arize Cafe well done! šš¾ please stay...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis TERRIBLE company ruined my order for today. I placed this order 1 day before with plenty of time to prepare. The next day I received notice my order would arrive late, 10 mins later i receive notice my order will be even later. 40 mins later i receive notice they are still working on order. After 1 hour i am contacted to be informed that Arize sent my order with the wrong driver and that they REFUSED to remake the order. This was COMPLETELY unprofessional! They left a group of over 50 people without food. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Every order i have placed has always arrived later then scheduled. We tried to give them more chances and they FAILED to deliver on-time. I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend this company!
Update: As you can see the company wait weeks before leaving a replay to my review. THERE claims are absolutely FALSE!! It is THEIR responsibility to make sure THEIR orders go out with the right driver to make sure the order arrives to the correct location. AND there were no complexities to my order. I made no changes to items and if start time was at 4:15 am that should have been plenty of time for my order to arrive by 8:45am. It doesn't take 4 hours to cook breakfast food. So if the order wasn't possible then why accept it in the first place? ANNND i was on the phone with EZ cater when they made multiple attempts to contact the site and when finally was able to make contact THEY told us THEY sent the order with the wrong driver and REFUSED to remake the order. The EZ cater associate also felt they acted VERY UNPROFESSIONAL with this situation and made no attempt to correct the issues. Please DO NOT try to blame others for...
