My boyfriend and I was there last night. We stopped by after I bragged so hard about how good the food and atmosphere was. I told him all about the BET special and swore up and down he had been missing out. Chile was I wrong! To begin when we walked in no one was available to greet us had it not been for the ladies waiting and few patrons sitting you’d think it was closed. Eventually a young lady walked up and said “yall dining?” We replied yes then she said “it’s gone be a few minutes, maybe ten”, we said ok and shortly after a gentleman came and sat us. Honey we sat down had been there for a minute then the young man who sat us came to the table and said “I will be taking care of yall just gimme two minutes.” Well damn! He could’ve at least brought us water but nope! He came back about ten minutes later and had the nerve to swing through the ordering process. He wasn’t rushing us but he was talking so fast, it felt rushed. And I get it, they were definitely understaffed. However, that’s a choice to work knowing all of the components of having a successful shift is lacked. Anyhoo my boyfriend ordered the fried fish meal and I had a side of collards , macaroni and cornbread which is served as four muffins. When I tell you it was horrible. To put the icing on the cake to exemplify “we short and this what it is” attitude, he gave us a bottle of hot sauce that had a shelf life sticker on it and not ONE DAY was marked. I swear after taking a bite of my food all hell broke loose! Instantaneously I had to go to the ladies room. After a 10 minute break I went back to the table we asked for the ticket and a box to take the rest of the food and to say the least I haven’t been right since! All day long I’ve been sick. It appears the young lady and gentleman present yesterday was the host, server, bartender and cook! Kandi has to do better. That was the worse service and food I ever experienced. All I had were the sides and just a tiny piece of my boyfriend’s fish and I’m MESSED up. It will behove people to skip right over this place. I wish I’d listen to my gut, something told me to walk across to WING STOP but I wanted my boyfriend to try it so bad! Never again. Thennnnn had the sheer audacity to have 18% gratuity added to the check are you kidding me?!?! We were a couple, not a party but even then we were a party of...
Read moreVisiting from Detroit, Michigan for the 7th time. The food always amazing, the atmosphere was great. The issue was the customer service!
After waitress explained the drink specials which happened to be the lemon drop, worst decision to make. The manager states (in their menu) they don’t take drinks back. I asked for the lemon drop no salt or sugar but the lemon drop itself was extremely sweet. After telling waitress (I won’t name because it’s not all her fault) the drink was extremely too strong her response was she couldn’t do anything about it because the menu says “they don’t take drinks back”. I understand the policy not taking drinks back but being professional to the customer about the issue and offering to add juice to the drink or anything than not do anything but keep the gratuity 18% added for the establishment regardless of the service you receive.
Great ambience, great food but the service sucks I won’t return until Kandi changes the staff or how the operation is ran. The bill came up to 80.69 with the 18% gratuity included plus full drink on the table.
I brought my mom to experience “the old lady gang” at age 77 to show her something new and this experience was the worst of our two days in Georgia.
I’m not talking bad about black owned business it’s the principle or what the establishment offered to do so that the drink wouldn’t go to waste but “establishment” receives a tip regardless so wasn’t their concern. Also the manager asked did I need any adjustments made after requesting the waitress to have the manger come to the table (she should have came out to handle the issue anyway) not have the waitress go back n fourth relaying messages. I said no, left the full drink and the tip hopefully that satisfies the establishment and losing a traveling customer makes them happy. 😊.
All I wanted was for the manager or waitress to accommodate me as the customer than have me leave a full drink on the table, 18% gratuity and 80.00 for two people.
Don’t get the lemon drop!!! Last but not least it’s the customers that keeps any operation in business if it wasn’t for customers then the business...
Read moreThis maybe my last time visiting OLG. Tonight was the worst service I received. Me and two coworkers went for dinner around 7:15 PM. No one at the desk to greet us. We waited for about 10 minutes before the waitress acknowledged us. It was nine other customers there. So it wasn't busy at all. The waitress Jami Y was friendly at the beginning. One coworker ordered Blackened Salmon with mashed potatoes and cabbage. She said the Salmon and mashed potatoes was great, the cabbage was spicy. The other coworker had baked chicken (looked like jerk chicken), sweet potatoes, & mashed potatoes. She said everything was good except the sweet potatoes. I ordered salmon bites for the table. They were great! My entree was shrimp & grits (my usual). The grits wasn't as creamy and a little lumpy. One of my coworker asked for plastic ware. Jami asked if something was wrong with her silverware. Plastic ware is only for to-go orders. She eventually gave it to her. After we paid, tip already included. Jami customer service became rude & horrible.I asked for a to-go box, then plastic ware. She say its for to go orders. I asked her what was my order now that I'm taking it with me. Then the blue haired chick had the nerve to say, most people have silverware at home. I told her she can't assume where a person is going once they leave. We were visiting from out of town and staying at a hotel. I asked for the manager. She didn't get her, she end up giving me a plastic ware. They can't be that doing that bad and can't give you a plastic ware. I asked her for her name, she said its on the receipt. I don't mind leaving a tip. In which, I normally leave more than the added tip. I refused to be force to leave a tip for horrible customer service. I could have went to Wendy's for better service. You don't know who is coming to the restaurant and who know who. So treat everyone with respect and provide great customer service. That was the worst $52...
