Your staff leaves much to be desired. I waited 45 minutes for scampi, a burger, cole slaw, chowder and a quesadilla. It was never delivered. I kept being told it was coming. This was after showing up 25 minutes after my order, and after the due time. I didn't say anything really, but the front desk supervisor decided I was a problem and asked me what she could do because "i was clearly upset and had a problem"
That was the initial customer service reaction from this individual. I expressed that it's ridiculous that my meal wasn't complete after over 40 minutes when all they had to do was prepare the shrimp/sauce and cook the burger. I said the chowder was already in a pot, the pasta just needed to be reheated, the quesadilla heated or under a salamander or other warming, and the coleslaw in the fridge. She scoffed and suggested you cook everything from scratch. That's when I knew she was gaslighting me, or didn't know a single thing about how a kitchen operates.
Maybe have your staff somewhat knowledgeable about how restaurant kitchens work, so they don't embarrass themselves when dealing with someone who is trained.
Needless to say, I canceled my order. I dont need to wait for 40+ minutes for a 20 minute meal when the restaurant is dead and there are only a handful of orders waiting to be picked up.
You forgot or lost my order and didn't want to own up to it. Instead of behaving professionally, your supposed manager decided to act a fool. I don't need to order from you. Your staff once knew me by face and always had my order ready. That was up until 6 months ago.
I'm not going to be subjected to your ridiculous, uninformed manager there. You cook everything from scratch. She wouldn't know prep if it hit her...
Read moreThe beet/chickpea taco sounded great!! Unfortunately it was not good at all. Very dry chickpeas wayyyy to crispy not very edible hurt your teeth. Barely no hummus and onions were not sliced thin one big chunk and not marinated. Now it has potential. I would order it again. I would add lime juice cilantro and a little avocado and some crema/sour cream/yogurt drizzle. And maybe little Pieces of diced beet as well. The hummus was barely there I had to ask for more and for lime because it was so dry. Just some helpful suggestion because I think you should keep that option on menu but needs to be fixed!!!
Now never a big fan of the clam cakes because always overcooked. We asked this time for them to under bake them! Perfect!!! Seafood chowder yummy as always. I would like if you offered Rhode Island chowder! I prefer non creamy soups. Rhode island chowder is my go to. Hubby loved his burger med rare!!!
So yes everything asides from the tacos was good! I’m not vegan or anything definitely redo those tacos 🌮 and they...
Read moreChelo's offers great, home style comfort food at terrific prices. I visited the East Providence location recently and enjoyed it. Despite undergoing renovations, everything was up to snuff, and what they've finished renovating so far looks great. I ordered the French style meat pie, and it was terrific. A nice sized piece, with flaky crust and fantastic flavor, very satisfying indeed. Our waitress Breanna was both friendly and attentive. The shift manager even came around to check in and say hello. Parking is plentiful and well lit and they also have a function room, perfect for any business or family parties/events. We will definitely be back soon, and I suggest you visit if you have not. Top tip, nothing takes away the winter blues better than a cup of chowder (New England white of course!) and clamcakes when it's 20F outside. It'll make you feel like Narragansett in August,...
