My first impression was not that positive. Best positive aspect is that in a "seat yourself" establishment, they did allow us to make a reservation for our group (10+). Since it was my first time there I can't really attest to how busy they they were, however, the staff seemed to definitely achieve their daily steps goal. Typically in a restaurant as this, customers receive a glass of water while deciding what to order. This was not the case. I was one of the first of my group to arrive, and from the time they took my drink order, it was well after the others showed up before I got it, which equated to almost a 15 minute wait for a beer. Speaking of beer, when I asked for a list of what they had, I was given a 3"x3" piece of paper with their selection that had seen better days. It wasn't what I thought they would have - very unprofessional, and unhygienic since it wasn't laminated and there wasn't any way to tell where it had traveled from before landing on my table. The wait for our food orders was within reason. The food itself was hit and miss. Mango Tacos were very well received. The French Dip, not so much - very fatty. The fries lacked that uniqueness that customers pay for and expect. They tasted like the crinkle fries that you take out of your freezer and put in the oven at home, just more expensive. One in our group asked for their meal to be served on a bed of lettuce. I think there is a pretty big difference in expectation and reality. A small pile of shredded iceberg lettuce on the side of the plate isn't a "bed of lettuce". I'm also not sure if the lettuce on your burger should be shredded?? We laughed and ate and were headed to an event so we asked I to get our check while some were still finishing up. That didn't happen, however. It took another request for our check, and that is when the cherry topping on our melted ice cream evening occurred. Now let me preface that I understand completely that computers are not perfect and that the inability to run credit cards will happen at times - that is not my issue. We were not told that they weren't able to process credit cards until that second request for the check. That's when we were informed and given the lovely options of paying cash and/or use the ATM by the door. A check for 10+ people is beyond what many, dare I say most, people carry around in cash - you know, the age of credit and debit cards being what it is. We were left scrambling to pull everything together so we could not only pay for our meals, but to get to the event in which we were now running late. Common sense would deem that customers should be informed if there are limits and/or changes to payment that are expected. A little "we are not able to accept credit cards at this time. We do have these other options...." notification would have been appreciated to at least give their customers time you get their ducks in a row. I am choosing to believe that this was maybe just an off night, and will be open to trying it one more time. Our waiter seemed nice and apologetic. I was really wanting to love this place...maybe next time I will and I can...

They were precocious about letting it happen again, but if your dog is friendly, and you keep your dog under control, they are more than hospitable. I also highly recommend the Chicken Avacado Bacon Burger. Shout out to Jennifer for being such a gracious host."
I have to edit this review, and downgrade to average. I was there last weekend and they they only had 4 tables seated. I caught the attention of the bartender on my way out to the back with my dog, so they obviously knew I was outside. I sat for 10 minutes, and no water, no beer, no menu.
I went back inside to make sure they knew I was outside. They very pleasantly acknowledged me, then very purposely ignored me for another 15 minutes.
It just seemed a little strange for this great business.
I am not a primidonna when it comes to an eatery, but I used to do this back in the 80's. First rule is to get the customer a beer, the hook. Next, give them a menu.
25 minutes in, and nobody cared. Lip service was all they had to offer.
I love this place, so I am not trying to give them a bad review, but that was just ridiculous. This restaurant needs to get a hold of their staff and remind them why people give them money. I've never been treated this bad there before, and I'm not sure I will...
Read moreLast month, we met up at Bob's East with a group of 8 for a friend's birthday. I'd been there a couple times for ladies' night and enjoyed the cool atmosphere and cheap drinks. Dining there, however, was a completely different experience.
The place was not at all busy, maybe three other tables at the time. There seemed to be plenty of staff. It took our server more than 20 minutes just to get us our drinks. Food was close to an hour. The wait time would be somewhat forgivable if the server had been kind or apologetic.
He was rude. Beyond rude...he treated one of my friends as if she'd left him at the alter (she hadn't, I'm pretty sure). When he wasn't ignoring her or messing up her requests, he was hostile. He wasn't even nice to the birthday girl, which I'm certain is waitstaff training day 1 material, right? Two of us had problems with our bills (no discount offered for the egregious wait, btw) and he roughly grabbed the ticket from my hand and gave a disgruntled, loud sigh.
The burger I had was quality and tasty but impossible to enjoy under the circumstances. Shame to give such a poor review; I'm very fond of the...
