Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in East Whiteland Township

Who doesn’t love Rita’s already?! Am I right?! But somehow they just got a whole lot even sweeter. I went to the Fraser branch like always because I already know the service and customer care is unbeatable. I purchased a large vanilla and chocolate custard swirl in a cup and took it to go. I only started to enjoy it at around 8:40 and I noticed that there was way more chocolate than vanilla and I like vanilla better as it is so I wasn’t enjoying it as much as usual. So at about 8:52 I called the Fraser Rita’s to let them know, even though I’m a very easy going person so I certainly wasn’t looking for or expecting anything from the one mistake from them in the years I have been going. But the manager Frank answered the phone and he said to come even though they would be closed by the time I got there and he would make it right. At that point I said that I wanted a large vanilla swirl, another large chocolate and vanilla swirl and a large mango water ice but I would most definitely pay for all of them. When I got there, there were three girls working that night; Rebecca, Katie and Rebecca and they were amazing. One of them handed me my order and said that it was “on us”. I’m blown away by so many aspects of the way they handled the littlest mistake that was probably the machines doing anyway. I feel really bad because I didn’t even have a dollar in cash on me but this just happened and I go there ALL the time so I’ll just get them back with something substantial very soon! I should start by saying I love Ritas, but I don’t love being lied to. This evening I went to Ritas to get myself and a friend a large Swedish fish gelati with vanilla custard. While we waited to receive the order, my friend saw one of the employees fill the bottom layer of my cup with mixed chocolate and vanilla custard and then before handing it to the next worker who filled it with vanilla. After finishing the first order, the employee who took our order asked the employee who screwed up the custard if they put chocolate by accident. The other employee said she didn’t — despite my friend having watched her do so — and then we asked the employees if they had put mixed by accident. They both said they were vanilla. Consider me shocked when I get to the bottom of my cup to find chocolate ice cream in my cup.

My fiancé and I stopped by Rita’s for a sweet treat, and it was honestly the highlight of our day. The shop had such a fun, welcoming vibe, and the staff made us feel right at home. I went for the strawberry cheesecake ice cream—and wow, it was amazing! Creamy, rich, and packed with real strawberry flavor and just the right hint of cheesecake… easily one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had.
