I’ve only had food from here a couple times and I will say that my experience with the pizza has been relatively solid, but this last time I decided to try their boneless wings as well and I was extremely let down.

I ordered one pound of wings and was appalled when they arrived. They were the most paltry looking poultry I’ve ever seen when buying ONE POUND. I couldn’t believe it, so I had to immediately grab my food scale and a bowl to confirm how much was there. And, much to my surprise (not), they weighed in at only ~8oz! For the uninformed, 1 lb = 16oz. So I was only given HALF of what I ordered.

When I called to figure out what happened, the lady who answered told me that she was the one who boxed it up and that she put in the correct number for ā€œtheir poundā€ of chicken wings. Apparently they only give you 12 wings, even if half of them are only about the size of a chocolate truffle. When I emphasized that I expected a POUND of wings when I order a POUND, the lady’s only rebuttal was that they lose some weight when cooking. Yeah, okay, but if you look it up, chicken breast only loses about 25% of its weight when cooked, and that’s not even including the weight the breading should add. But, even giving them the benefit of the doubt in that regard, I should have had at least 12oz and I did not. And on top of that, they tasted over cooked, some of them to the point of tasting a bit burnt.

That was a complete waste of $15 for some of the worst wings I’ve ever had in EC. And the service to top it off has left a very sour taste in my mouth. I honestly can’t recommend this place. The pizza is decent, but it’s also expensive by EC standards, so you can get much better pizza [AND] service elsewhere.

And as advice for the restaurant, either give the customers what you’re advertising, or change the way you word it!! If you only do 12 wings regardless of weight, maybe say that! Don’t say one pound and then only give...

Ordered for take out, was given a number and told about 15 mins. Proceeded to wait 35 minutes...it wasn't until I realized the 3rd person to order after me was being brought their pizza. The staff person who even noticed my order number waiting on the table...went back to inquire but still did not communicate anything to me. I had to inquire about my overdue order, only to find out my order had been done and was sitting in their "warmer." None of the wait staff took the time to check the status beforehand. Why give the customer a number that is clearly displayed on the table if you aren't going to follow-up. BTW, the pizza was just ok. Not wowed. Crust was too thick and hard. Don't see any reason to return.

Update: (7/15/23) Owner reached out and was responsive to constructive feedback. My intent was to address the importance of customer service and how the handling of mishaps by a business can affect the experience of the customer. Many businesses will just raise their hands šŸ¤·šŸ½ and move on. Cast Iron welcomed the feedback and wanted to make it right... this says volumes on the importance of customer service for their business. That's how build repeat patronage... I guess I will be trying some of the other specialty pizza items on their menu... and those mushroom...

My experience:

First time I went here I tried a small pie. Thin, cooked well, good sauce and toppings ratio.

Second time I decided to order few large pies for the whole family and hyped it up. Definitely a higher priced pizza place in Eau Claire but with my first experience I thought it was well worth it Unfortunately it didn’t turn out like the first time. pizza was burnt, thick cheese and uncooked toppings. I spoke to the owner and was told they are still working out the kinks. I was told I would receive a gift card when they get ā€˜em in. That was a month ago so I kind of feel like my bad experience is kind of forgotten about. I called in and asked when they would get gift cards and the employee said she’s not sure if they will be getting them. For a $67.00 meal I did feel like I got a little burned but I will be open to updating my experience if I do receive a gift card and can give ā€˜em another try in the future!

Cool concept but kinks need to be worked out before launching, need some consistency when you have customers spending top $$$ for...

Western Wisconsin peeps-have you tried Cast Iron Pizza right next to Phoenix Park in Eau Claire? They have a featured pizza each week, an excellent value lunch special, and are vegetarian and gluten free friendly! The magic of Cast Iron Pizza is, you guessed it, the seasoned cast iron skillets used to bake the pizza leading to a unique, delicious crust. They also source ingredients locally wherever possible. Oh, and if you don’t want to leave the warmth of your car right now-they even have a drive thru! We enjoyed a lunch special and macaroni and cheese pizza, but need to return to try so many other flavors! ************************* We’re Angie & Jeff of Thrifty Living Travel Freedom. There’s a lot of options to building your own pizza, the food is spectacular. So good I started digging in before I even took a photo to share. Just looking at it I knew it wasn’t going to be average quality. So far this is the best pizza in Eau Claire in my opinion. I don’t even know if I’ll try any other pizza honestly. They also have real lettuce options not just iceberg trash lettuce. I have to try their huge salad bar next time. The price for the quality was perfectly balanced. The girl at the counter was polite and helpful.
