The concept of this restaurant was intriguing. The reality was really disappointing. It took over an hour to get two sandwiches and some French toast. Our wait began with trying to get a seat. It did not appear that there was a dedicated person helping incoming customers. Once seated, we were asked if we wanted something to drink. We said we wanted to look at the menu before making a decision. The waitress left and did not come back for an extended period of time. We placed our order for an Izzy (pop) and asked about something from the bar. The waitress responded that she did not know the answer but would check. We placed our order for food and then the waitress left. She did not ever come back with an answer to our question. We would have asked her again, but she never came back with the Izzy either... The food took forever to come out. The waitress came out several times to apologize and awkwardly offered us something while we waited. Just a hint, in the future, bring a menu with you if you are going to do this next time... We skipped the offer, because we assumed it would just arrive when our food did anyways. While waiting, we saw other customers wait to be seated. One group tried to seat themselves but was sent back to the waiting area. They were eventually seated after a table was cleared for them. After about 10 more minutes of waiting to be attended to, they got up and left without placing an order. We heard many people walking out after their meal joking about the long waits. Our food eventually showed up and it was uninspired. Certainly nothing to come back for.
At the end of the day, this place really failed at even getting the simple things right. We sat and watched four wait staff (I think this was all of them) standing in front of the food pickup window waiting for their orders. This was at the same time that there were at least six tables that needed to be cleaned of dishes from customers that had finished their meals and departed. This was also at the same time when customers had to walk up and ask the staff for ketchup for their meals. We also saw customers self-serve themselves water from a tap near the...
Read moreWe have been to this place many, many times before but have never had this kind of negative experience. We came after mothers day rush and ordered food from a very stress looking lady behind counter. She asked us the same question multiple times but seemed like she chose to not hear our responses. She was very frazzled. Our food came to the table and my French toast was ice cold. After waiting to find someone - a lady came back and she took plate away (without saying sorry or anything) and within 5 minutes the plate came back and dropped off rudely and abruptly (again without comment)by who I found out later was actually the manager. My cold French toast was just put into microwave and brought back. My knife and fork were still on the plate actually laying in my food. I could not believe this scenario was unfolding. I asked for the manage and the lady who dropped off the food came back and I told her what happened. Again, no apology or any kind of professional courtesy whatsoever. She has just looked at me like I was wasting her time. For a minute, I thought this was just me, but my wife and daughter also could not believe how these workers reacted to this simple issue. I had her take the cost off the bill and she did that. Again, she brought the money back to the table - did not say anything and just walked away. As we left, the manager, a server and the bartender where sitting at the bar. The bartender was eating Natcho's, the server was on her phone and the manager was folding towels. They just glared at us as we walked by them and out the door. Again, I could not believe what we were witnessing. This team needs some serious training by whomever manages or owns...
Read moreWhen we arrived we thought it was closed... it was open but wasn't busy. I have eaten at People's Organic at other locations and really enjoyed it. This place was really underwhelming. We had a turmeric ginger tea latte that was essentially a glass of steamed unsweetened soy milk with an unbrewed tea bag at the bottom of it. Mango smoothies were good but watery. I had a decent sandwich. Took a couple tries asking staff for ketchup for our table. Can they hear us? Are they wearing headsets for the drive through? The staff seemed stressed and distracted even though it wasn't busy inside. Tables weren't cleared immediately even though it wasn't busy. Children's meals including a pbj sandwich with an apple or a slice of bread with a blob of hummus were laughably overpriced. The menu on the wall was in such small font that it was essentially unreadable, making paper menus necessary even if ordering at the counter. I won't bother coming here again. The other locations I have been to did not have a drive through. I wonder if the staff are too scattered trying to accommodate the indoor clients as well as the drive through to enjoy their work and contribute to a pleasant experience. The prices are too high for the basic quality of the meals. The bathroom was not even accommodating, there was rust on top of the diaper changing table and no easily accessible garbage from the changing table, is the rust from wet diapers being placed there? The paper towel dispenser didn't work so a giant roll of paper towels was available for everyone to touch and tear from. Unpleasant and could be so...
