Taste of Asia — Restaurant in Eden Prairie

Interesting Vietnamese /Chinese restaurant next to the "Holiday Gas station" and sharing the same washroom with the Gas station. Coming from Chicago, IL and now living in Victoria, MN for relocation of work I had a craving for Vietnamese cuisine and found this on Google. I decided to give this restaurant a try and have to say it was Good but NOT superb. The "Pho 75" was delicious for it did follow the flavor of a traditional Vietnamese Pho both in comparing between Vietnamese cuisine restaurants back in Chicago, IL USA as well as when I traveled to the country of Vietnam. I was a bit disappointed at the Vietnamese Spring roll because it did not have the extra ingredient of Cilantro added and the lettuce they used did not seem so fresh. it was OK in a sense that it did not taste bland but the presentation of the Spring roll did not match what they displayed on their menu which should look like what they are about to deliver. I would come back again and might give a star more since I too craved their "Com Tam" dishes which is also another popular dish in Vietnam and Chicago. The duck com tam is the one I will try next time with rice. Otherwise decent at 3 stars experience for the 1st time . Hope I can try their Chinese buffet too if their Chinese dishes are good? I was there the same time as 23MVPBulls eating in there with my young daughter. This man demanded a military discount the lady didn’t understand English well so she grabbed the only cook to talk to this man. He told him only sometimes they give a discount sorry and he had to head back to the kitchen. The customer threw his order and started yelling at this poor man demanding a full refund dropping many many F bombs. And continues to berate this poor man who is just trying to survive a busy restaurant severely short staffed as he’s trying to process the refund. Continuing to tell him how he lost a customer. Yes the owner finally snapped back saying he will be okay he’s got lots of other customers. Just because you signed up on your own will to serve your country you weren’t drafted doesn’t give you the entitlement to demand discounts every where and to treat people the way you did. You truly showed a dis service to the service. After the rude man left the lady made sure to check to make sure myself and my daughter were okay and apologized for that. This is the deal.. I am the kind of person who never reviews anything. Why would I care to take time out of life to give congrats to a company that is doing what they advertise, making Asian food....BUT I will say I have lived in Mound/Minnetonka/Hopkins and Carver over the last decade and have found myself ordering Chinese food from multiple locations. It always is the same decent food..not great! but it gets the job done when your craving Chinese. I ordered from Taste of Asia for the first time today, and it was like I had never had Chinese food before!!! Great food with great taste, I never even used the soy sauce packets to cover up mediocre taste. I also asked for my Tiger Pork to be spicy which never usually goes over well with other places at this price point!! It was delicious spicy!!!! It felt like a custom order at a high end restaurant LOL

Regardless of all that was said I had a great experience with a great price and would highly recommend 5 stars...
