We try different pizza's all over town. Always looking for a "better" pizza.
This one had good reviews so.....
First off, nice little place. Nothing fancy, it DOES have seating, pretty clean, kinda beat up old strip mall. There is currently construction on the road - and I MEAN serious construction, the cement barriers are nearly up to the windows.
There is nothing to complain about the quality of ingredients related to the pizza. There definitely should be MORE topping on the pizza. I kinda question the use of cheddar cheese, I DON'T really think it adds anything, in fact, it probably messes with the flavor of everything else.
Now, when people here say the pizza is "thin crust" they mean THIN CRUST. Cracker thin would be thicker. I'm NOT kidding. I didn't know you could MAKE pizza this thin. I would say most of the pizza is about an eight of an inch. Yup, get your ruler out - that's a thin, thin pizza.
And here lies the problem. When you pay $16 for a 13 inch pizza (Twin City- pretty much a deluxe) You want to feel like you got your moneys worth---OR at least it was kinda expensive, but "better". And it's just not. You can argue better, but value - no not even close.
Also, NO checks - NO credit cards. They REALLY need to mention this. I bet there's been PLENTY a mad customer. No checks I understand, but no credit cards, these days? Hmm. something fishy about that. No coupons around either..
This pizza joint may have been around 50 years, but you kinda get the feeling that "running on fumes" is...
Read moreLiterally just fell in love. Came here after work just to get some pizza. Sometimes you find a diamond in rough. Now that looks just like a regular thin pizza. But I'll tell you that pizza as I've worked at many Pizza places in my lifetime. This has to be a number 10 or higher this pizza is absolutely delicious. The thin crust basically just cracks in your mouth. You can't get that from big box stores. I had planned on taking that pizza home and eating it I ended up eating it in the store and bought a second pizza to take home. I walked out of that store feeling like I had the best pizza in the whole metro area! kind of guarding it as I'm bringing it to my car. It was that good. I don't know the cook's name but he made my Pizza perfect. Definitely worth a try. I almost guarantee you won't want to have any other Pizza. Thank you Updating my review it's been 4 years since my last review Pizza is still the...
Read moreAfter living in the area for 5 years we decided to give Chalet Pizza a try. If you were around in the 1970's to order pizza, this is like a blast from the past and that's a good thing. Noting corporate here, just a very spartan restaurant that makes traditional american style pizza on a cash only basis. You will not find gourmet pizza on the menu. The best part is the sauce - thick and tangy and just the right amount with decent toppings and light on the cheese all on a hand tossed and very thin crust that is a winner. The building is slated for demolition within the year so they will be moving - but I don't know where. Staff was friendly and engaging. The only way I would give 5-stars is if someone had outstanding mozzarella like I had from a mafia owned joint in New Jersey - but hey, we do the best we can...
