Haven Riverfront Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Edgewater

I had a very simple intimate wedding reception here (about 36 people including kids) in March 2025 & I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to host an event similar. Fiona was a gem, she was straightforward, very helpful & knowledgeable.

The Views - gorgeous waterfront views of the NY skyline. The Inside - clean, sophisticated, modern/seems updated. Parking - all of our guest used the valet service or were able to find off street parking close by. The staff - phenomenal. Very kind, very attentive, very on point. I’m mad at myself for not remembering their names because I would love to have shouted them out, they were great. The Drinks - made very, very well. I’m a cocktail girlie & the drinks were definitely strong & delicious. All of our guests said the same thing & enjoyed theirs very much. The Food - Apps were amazing. Probably everyone’s favorite. Dinner however got mixed reviews. Based on the feedback from my guests, the fish/Bronzino, short rib & lamb were delicious, however it seems like the steaks fell short. The seasoning/taste was good, but almost everyone who ordered the steaks ended up admitting to me that they were disappointed because the steaks were overdone/cooked too thoroughly (people ordered medium, med-rare or at least described to the waiter to have it “pink in the middle”). I was also very upset about this especially because the steak is what my husband/the groom ordered. He should’ve been able to enjoy his dinner especially on our wedding day & especially since he’s the one who was solely paying for the entire evening. We ask if he could get another steak to be re-cooked to what he requested (he ordered medium/medium well) & he ended up getting another steak even more cooked/no pink/well done. We did not bother asking a 3rd time.

The waiter was very apologetic, understanding and kind about it, he ended up taking both of our meals off the bill to make up for it - which we very much appreciated.

I understand in a large group setting, cooking steaks in a large batch like that to be made at different temperatures may be hard to get 100% right and it’s NOT something I’m going to hold against the restaurant at all. It was just one mistake out of the many other things that went very well. Everything else was absolutely delicious.

Again, I highly recommend this spot overall. I hope they can keep consistent in quality with the drinks, service & food as it’s a place we plan on returning to, especially for our anniversary...

As for the food, the highlight of the night was without question the lobster pasta. Cooked to perfection, the pasta was tender and delicately coated in a flavorful, creamy sauce that allowed the sweetness of the lobster to shine through without overwhelming it. The lobster itself was succulent and generous in portion—clearly fresh and expertly prepared. Each bite was rich, indulgent, and unforgettable.

Beyond the food and drink, Haven delivers on atmosphere and hospitality. The view is stunning, especially as the evening progresses and city lights begin to twinkle in the backdrop. Whether you’re seated indoors or on the patio, the ambiance is chic yet relaxed—ideal for both a romantic evening or a stylish night out with friends.

Lastly, the service was impeccable. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm in their approach. They made sure everything flowed smoothly from start to finish, and their thoughtful suggestions only enhanced our experience.
