Wouldn’t come back….
Went here last night on a date . Figured we would try it since we live close and wanted to try something new
The 2 stars I am giving is for the server, he was very polite and friendly . But aside from that , wasn’t too happy with my experience here .
No bread served while waiting for apps.
When asked to add on a protein to the penne Arrabbiata, server apologized and said chef doesn’t allow changes to the food (even though we were willing to pay extra for some meat) . Wasn’t happy with the flavor on this dish , sauce was very bland. Wasn’t served with any Parmesan.
My entree was a Rosolini pizza at around $25 for a personal pizza , and it came out at least 20 minutes after my boyfriend’s entree .. and he was already finished with his food by the time mine arrived . (At this point it was later at night and the restaurant really didn’t seem busy either.) the server apologized and said that the pizza chef and the other chef doing everything else were on different schedules . The pizza also lacked flavor to me . Everything seemed very under salted and under seasoned .
Since we wanted some protein , we shared a chicken parmigiana . It was okay but the sauce also lacked flavor . . It was $28 and this did not include any pasta or side, and the portion was not that generous- it was 3 very thinly sliced small pieces of chicken breast .
Gelato and tiramisu were $15 each - boyfriend said the tiramisu was good, I didn’t really care that much for my gelato.
If this matters, I am also Italian myself and I just wasn’t impressed with the flavor of the food at all. The pricing doesn’t reflect the flavor of the food or portions . we dine often in this area- at equivalent cost or higher end places, often also on the waterfront, and we have no problem with the pricing when we know the food is good ..but this just wasn’t...
Read moreWe went to Rosolini for a friend’s birthday and had such a great time! The place has a really nice vibe and the interior is beautifully done. The food was delicious, we tried a few appetizers, pasta, and pizza and everything was full of flavor and well prepared. Pizzas were phenomenal. Agnolotti Piemontesi was amazing, (well cooked homemade ravioli). But one of the highlights of the night was the Zuppa Di Pesce In Crosta, a chef’s signature dish. It’s a seafood stew with lobster, shrimp, octopus, calamari, clams, and mussels in a light spicy tomato and white wine sauce, topped with a flatbread crust It was juicy, rich in flavor, and you could really taste and enjoy each type of seafood. nothing was overcooked or lost in the sauce. Truly a must-try if you are seafood lover. There was a live DJ and a violinist performing (totally coincidence) and they were both amazing. The music had a Mediterranean touch and really added to the atmosphere. I heard they do this every Wednesday, which is definitely worth checking out. Another thing we loved: it’s BYOB, so we brought our own wine, which made the dinner feel even more special. Parking was also super easy with a free garage downstairs, that was huge plus. We brought our own birthday cake, and the staff was totally fine with it. In fact, they were all super friendly and fun to talk to. Big shoutout to the hostess, DJ, and the violinist. If you’re looking for a fun night out in Edgewater with great food, music, and vibes, Rosolini is definitely...

As a seasoned chef navigating this demanding industry, I am acutely aware of the myriad frustrations that accompany the growth process. While I acknowledge that customers may sometimes overlook certain issues as a venue finds its rhythm, there are fundamental aspects that cannot be compromised, particularly when it comes to pricing and portion sizes.
I ordered the Paccheri Amatriciana, priced at $28.00, featuring large tubes sautéed with pork cheeks, pancetta, tomato sauce, and pecorino; the Pappardelle Alla Bolognese at $32.00, which includes flat pasta with beef, pork, veal ragout, and aged Parmigiano; and the Chicken Parmigiana for $29.00, consisting of breaded chicken cutlets topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. The total for these three pasta dishes and one chicken dish, without seafood, reached an alarming $125.00. This pricing is nothing short of an affront to our community.
While I appreciate the quality and the elaborate descriptions on the menu, I must express my disappointment. It is unacceptable to serve my guests lean portions in cheap takeout containers, especially when basic attention to detail is lacking. The absence of aged Parmigiano cheese across all our dishes was glaring, and the love and passion that should be inherent in the culinary experience were conspicuously absent.
This is a call for reflection rather than an outright condemnation, but enough is...
