The food was great, aside from the mac and cheese. That side dish could use a lot more flavor and maybe some texture. The brisket and sausage sandwich was melt-in-your-mouth good. Their sweet tea wS perfectly sweetened and not too bitter.
So why 1 star? The environment. I mean, seriously guys, is this a bottom-shelf bar or a family restaurant? I can understand going for a hole-in-the-wall look, but your walls are covered with writing. And you know, that's fine and even cute to see hearts with initials and all that but then there's words like "c#ck" and "c#nt" on the wall next to where my son is sitting. Then you've got the restrooms that look like something out of a Rob Zombie horror film. Exposed pipes and water heater, horribly dim lighting, the walls look like they're on their 30th coat of paint, etc.
You guys need to seriously renovate or something. My family and I are huge fans of your food (especially your loaded baked potato) but we'd rather drive out to Alamo and eat at that location or some other restaurant than drive down the road to this one in Edinburg. It's shameful, gross, and only results in motivating customers to...
Read moreWe were craving for Texas BBQ and got a recommendation from a friend to this place.
The vibe and atmosphere is nice. They have some instagramable spots as well.
I also included their menu here for y'all.
We ordered a family platter (botana for 2) and a famous baked potato with mollejas.
The portion is definitely a lot for 2, we are so full and still have a lot of leftover to take home. It came with choices of 3 sides and choice of either tortillas or bread.
We chose potato salad, cream corn and coleslaw. On the plate they have pickles, onion and pico de gallo too.
Now let's talk about the taste. Overall, all the meat are awesome except for the brisket, it's a little dry. The ribs, chicken and sausages is amazing. The sides are great too!
Highly recommend the baked potato, it was PERFECTLY SPLENDID! We chose to have everything on it (butter, cheese, sour cream, bacon bits and chives). You can choose whatever meat you want on it or no meat at all.
Staffs are super friendly and welcoming.
If you have a chance, stop by and try their...
Read moreThe food was nothing like the food they have over in the Alamo location. Apparently, long time ago the two owners of Willie B's BBQ had a disagreement and decided to part ways. Once has this location in Edinburg and the other has their location in Alamo with the name The Original Willie's BBQ. My mom, sister, and I decided to go to the Edinburg location because we didn't want to drive ask the way to Alamo. We figured if they used to be affiliated they must have the same recipes. BIG MISTAKE! As my sister put it, "The owner in Alamo has the good recipe." The place smelled ugly and the food was horrible. The brisket seems like the boil it and then smoke it on the BBQ and the service was so slow. I asked like 3 times for a baked potato and each time the lady would leave the counter and then come back and ask me what I wanted. Then, almost immediately after ingesting the food, my mom and I got really sick. By far, the worst choice in food. This place should totally change their name so that no one thinks...
