Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Edison

I wanted to share my recent experience dining at this Chili’s with a group of nearly 10 people, including two young children. Our total bill was around $200. When we arrived, a female hostess seated us without issue—but from the moment we sat down, we could immediately feel that our presence wasn’t welcomed. The energy from the staff was noticeably off.

Despite being polite and organized with our drink and food orders, we received little to no attention from our server. No one checked in on us, offered refills, or ensured everything was okay. When the food arrived, it was cold and flavorless, but we still tried to enjoy our time together.

At one point, the children at our table (both under 10) were quietly playing a game where they tossed napkins at each other—again, not on the floor or around the restaurant. Then, a white female server wearing a hat and with short hair came over and loudly scolded them, completely killing the mood. It was an unnecessary outburst for harmless behavior.

After that, we noticed several hostesses staring at us throughout the rest of our meal, making us feel uncomfortable and watched—as if they expected us not to pay. When the bill came, the tip section was aggressively circled and highlighted, which felt extremely inappropriate given the lack of service and the judgmental attitude we experienced.

To make matters worse, we noticed we were overcharged for items we never ordered. When we brought it up, the only resolution offered was complimentary chips and salsa. That gesture felt like an afterthought rather than a sincere apology.

Overall, the staff was inattentive, rude, and unwelcoming. This location appears to have a clear bias against younger adult customers, which is incredibly disappointing. Food was absolutely delicious as always. My group loved the lava cake and chicken. However, our server Amanda was very rude when we were trying to split our bill. She stood right aboves us and watched as we were paying. Then randomly came up to us and took our tablet and came back with a new one. We assumed it was technical issue and thought nothing of it but as reached 30 dollars on our bill, she snatched the tablet from the girls hand and asked how we were paying the rest. We told her one girl was gonna pay 12 dollars and then there was 17 dollars left as we order drinks and dessert. We informed the server amada that we would like to split the bill as she had the tablet in her hand and she respond aggressively, “Absolutely not, if you do have enough money to come and eat at Chili’s then don’t come. Right now I am paying for your food as you have only tipped me 0.23 cents..” She then went on to say, “if this is the way you guys are paying, I can revokes service so the next time you come here they won’t serve.” We were upset by the way she was talking to us but we respectfully told her that we understood and were planning to pay cash tip at the end as there were multiple of us. She was still upset and slammed the tablet and said,” I don’t even know why these children are here.” In the ends we payed 20 dollar cash tip and 7 dollars through card. But Just overall very unhappy with the attitude and words that the server told us and just disappointed that this employee would threaten to revoke service when they have not done anything wrong. I truely love chilles food but will not be come back to this location due to high disrespect...

I have not been to this Chili's since I was a child! I went today with my husband and it was an awesome experience! The resturant has since been updated and is more modern and clean, I love the vibes. I appericated the kind and attentive server, Nathaniel and our food was phenomenal. Their bathrooms were clean and spotless, I noticed and truly appericated the pump handsoap dispensers and the pump paper towel dispensers in the bathrooms---very wise business choice and please never get rid of it!---perfect for when you've ordered ribs! My husband signed up on the tablet that was on our table which got us free chips and salsa which was refilled for free! I ordered the brisket quesadillas and my husband had the full rack of ribs with fries and Mac and cheese. Of course we shared and exchanged some nibbles and the fries were hot and well seasoned the Mac and cheese was a little loose but very flavoral in my opinion with a hint of sharpness to it--perfect. Overall, we walked in never have been and walked out saying we will be back, this resturant exceeded all expectations from start to finish. The service was astounding, everyone was kind, attentive and the food and drinks were brought quickly--refills--brought before you finished your glass completely--Chili's staff is on their game.
