I must admit I was a bit skeptical to join my friends as I have passed this white-painted 1960s original Taco Bell building thousands of times on my commute to work. In my mind the outside decor, the look of the outside sign, something just has kept me away all these years.
But once I was in I became a believer. The service was fantastic, the food was prepared perfectly, and they tolerated our group very well. Yes, I was part of the four-adults-and-four-children-under-five-party. So that means the first half of our stay is perfect meanwhile the second half usually tends to become a little dicey.
I ordered one of the exclusive Chinese chef specials, the 'eggplant in garlic'. It was fabulous. The amount of garlic used was perfect as is was not overwhelming in the least bit. One of us ordered the 'thai curry chicken' and he was pretty much silent during the meal stuffing his face. It smelled delicious he didn't share.
But it was the Dan Dan Noodles that stole the show. How the heck do they get so much flavor in those flat things?
What we liked was you can see them freshly cutting and making the dishes back behind the counter in the kitchen. This stuff wasn't precooked or anything like that.
Boom. I will...
Read moreI recently visited Wahaha in Edmond, OK, and it turned out to be a great find. The menu has a nice variety of Chinese dishes, from American-style favorites to more authentic options. What really stood out for me were their noodles — the handmade noodles and the stir-fried flat noodles are especially delicious. The texture is perfect, and the flavors are well-balanced.
The food overall is very flavorful, though some dishes can be a bit salty for my taste. It would be even better if they could adjust the sodium level slightly, but I believe you can always request lighter seasoning when you order.
The portions are generous, and the prices are quite reasonable compared to other local Chinese restaurants in the area. The employees are always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even more pleasant.
The restaurant itself is a bit older, but it’s clean and has seating available for dine-in. There’s also plenty of parking, and takeout and delivery are both reliable and convenient.
If you’re looking for tasty Chinese food with great noodles, reasonable prices, and friendly service in Edmond or the Oklahoma City area, Wahaha is definitely...
Read moreWe stopped in the other night for dinner and ordered a larger sesame chicken with fried rice and a coke, and daily special sweet and sour chicken with white rice, egg drop soup, and a spring roll, and water.
The restaurant it's self looks to be an old Mexican restaurant that has been converted into a Chinese restaurant, and some beach decor has been thrown around to add to the theme. It's a really small place, and there are dishes stacked in the dining room, and the soup that is served is also sitting in the dining room. When we came in dirty dishes were sitting on the serving area. There was also a weird smell coming from the kitchen, and the area seemed to be untidy and unclean.
My fiancé said that his sesame chicken was good, but his fried rice was literally rice that was dark brown from tons of soy sauce that was dumped on it.
My soup was good, but there were pieces of egg shell that I had to fish out, my white rice was very soft and fluffy and my spring roll was perfectly crispy and soft on the inside. The Sweet and sour chicken was fried perfectly but the sauce was very watery and tasted more like vinegar and less sweet then I...
