This could easily be a five star review. I wasn't amazed at the food, but I sure ate it up. First thing I would say is to label the bagels. Right when you walk in the door, you see all of these beautiful bagels, but you don't know what they are. I suspect 90% of the business is local and they know, but it would be nice to expedite the ordering process by not having the employee explain all of the choices to me as I feel like I'm holding up the line. I couldn't understand over the music so I just pointed at a cheese bagel and there are more questions, but I couldn't understand so a customer behind me had to explain to me that there are two cheese bagels. I was feeling like I was holding things up. Upon payment, for the first time in my life I hit 'No Tip' because I'm tired of adding $3.00 on to all off my self serve/self pick-up food when it's already more than I want to pay. My total came out to $15.50 on my $11.25 sandwich after I completed the payment. Despite further holding the line up, I asked how my $11.25 sandwich was $15.50 and the receipt was examined to explain to me that special bagels cost an extra dollar. I didn't know that or read it anywhere, but whatever...so I say "OK, that $12.25, how is $15.50?" Gal comes over and examines receipt and tells me there is 25% tip and asks me if I want to take it off, so here I am already holding the line up and be asked if I want the tip taking off in front of everyone waiting on me and I have to say in front of everyone that I hit no tip but never mind. I felt embarrassed and annoyed that I was once again paying over $15 for a sandwich. Next customer was seemingly having issues with the touch screen as well. When my sandwich was ready, I picked up and mentioned that they may want to check their screen and I walked out in silence. I read other comments and I have no doubt they are true...just wasn't a good personal...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was introduced to this place by my mom, fell in love with it at first, it has a wonderful menu and great food but the service and the employees attitudes are out of this world. The first visit was on a busy Sunday and understanding the situation with COVID we didnāt make a big deal. The Girl attending our order didnāt take a name so we literally spent 3 hours for a single bagel. But the second visit really had us upset because we seriously felt discriminated, it was slow not many customers and literally the same girl from our last visit completely ignored us and asked whoās next so we waited for the next person in line to finish up and she just started attending the walk ins. Once again went back to the counter and got completely ignored. I donāt know if it was our color of our skin, the place seems very diverse but it literally...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVB is delicious and my go to breakfast spot recently. Keep in mind I'm from Denver, but I've visited NY a few times. Now that I've prefaced my review with that irrelevant trivia, these bagels are delicious and sandwiches hearty. I'm a huge sucker for fresh squeezed OJ and this place unexpectedly has it. I also love how you can cook the egg to order on the sandos and the many delicious smears and cheeses you can top em with (sausage egg Sammy on Chipotle Gouda wif green Chile smear? Duh.)
Anyway, everyone who works here is real sweet too and you see bagels being made behind the counter. Perfection.
My only complaint is--though a boon to my waistline and breakfast spending--they are no longer on doordash. For a brief few months, there was a non-chain breakfast delivery option in the...
