Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Edwardsville

I just had a fantastic experience at the edwardsville location. I was using a gift card that i was told had $15 on it so i ordered a meal and was just going to give the left over money on it to the car behind me. Well i was mistaken and the card only 3 dollars and change on it. They allowed me to get the blizzard even tho i think i still owed them 50 cents or so. It was very embarassing to think i had enough on the card to cover my order only to find out differently but the staff working that night was so polite and helpful and did their best to make me not feel embarassed and they did it all with a big caring smile on their faces. I will be choosing DQ first over any other restaurant because i have never been treated with such care and politeness over a mistake that i made and they had nothing to do with the mistake i made however they made me feel like any other paying customer and i could tell they treat any and every customer with the same upbeat positive attitude that makes me want to return any time i am in the mood for a quick and quality dinner with great customer service. Great job Edwardsville Dairy Queen and keep up the great work with the friendliness and care that i feel other places have made a secondary priority. Great staff means great training and hiring and everyone involved in that location deserves a pat on the back and should be proud if themselves because I will be passing this great experience along to anyone i know and will suggest to go their over any of their competitors. Not to mention the amazimg lunch specials they have that cant be beat by anyone around. Thank you again DQ and your great staff for a great experience. If i could give you 10 stars i definitely would have!! Thanks again and keep up the hard work and positive attitudes! That is the best way to get returning customers and i know i will be one many times again!! You guys are a model of how a fast food restaurant should be staffed, ran, and operate!!! On the rare occasion I go to Dairy Queen here in Edwardsville, I will ALWAYS order the same thing: Vanilla Sunday with a lot of hot fudge. Not just a lot. But way too much. It's more of a "hot fudge WITH vanilla ice cream" sort of deal. Call it an addiction or an obsession with hot fudge if you want...I call it a lifestyle. Moving on. I have never ONCE been disappointed with the service of the employees understanding my need for too much hot fudge. They are always very kind and make sure it is enough hot fudge for my craving of the chocolaty goodness. This last time I went (about 30 minutes ago) I asked for my usual. I was shown that my medium hot fudge with vanilla ice cream was PERFECT. Filled to the brim of the cup! Now, maybe I should have put the cup in a bowl before opening it up. Seeing as driving home it miiiight have melted a tad and ended up pouring a bit of ice cream on my lap desk. Luckily, the hot fudge was spared. This medium hot fudge with vanilla ice cream is perfection. It's just what I needed this evening. Am I being over dramatic about this? Definitely. Am I wrong by saying what I'm saying? I requested a type of ice cream cake that was not on the menu, for my son’s birthday. He has had a very rough last 10 months and felt like it wouldn’t hurt to at least ask. They had me speak with their in-house cake decorator. Once I explained to her the situation and the fact I was calling two weeks prior to needing the ice cream cake, she told me that she believed that it could be done.

I can’t thank them enough! The ice cream cake turned out wonderful and my son couldn’t believe they were able to do it.

I also would like to add, I drive an extra 8 miles each way to get to this particular Dairy Queen. Even passing two that are much closer to my home. But, I seem to get much better service and the restaurant is extremely cleaner than the other two that I pass on my way to the Edwardsville Dairy Queen. Maybe it is “mind over matter” but it even seems the food is better!
