Grumpy's Ice Cream and Popcorn — Restaurant in Egg Harbor

We go to grumpys every year on our vacation as it was our favorite ice cream place. Not anymore! Normally we are greeted with smiles and politeness. This time the worker was on the verge of rude. They used to let my kids try a flavor before committing to the the insane price of $7/cone. When my kids wanted to try one of the more unusual flavors, the worker said they couldn't sample it. They also used to let you have 2 different flavors, even when you got a single scoop. Not anymore. And their prices went up. $21 for three cones and terrible service. Good ice cream, also selling fudge, caramel corn, root beer,, and cotton candy. Unfortunately there are no limits of occupancy, which one would expect during COVID times, and several customers entered without masks, just getting a couple of napkins from the dispenser to cover their faces when they entered. The most surprising thing was to see one of the ice cream servers with her mask under her nose, only to bring it up when she saw customers taking a picture of her. We happened across Grumpy's as we were walking around Egg Harbor. It was one of the BEST experiences we had while in Door County. Not only was the root beer float the best we've had, but the owners were there and came out to talk to us. So friendly, and they made us feel welcome and appreciated our business! We especially loved the free sample of popcorn/caramel corn! We ended up buying some and Fudge! All were so delicious! Loved that the root beer float was in a frosty mug!
