Salute Wine and Beer Lounge — Restaurant in Egg Harbor

After hearing about this new wine bar from the owner (after visiting another of her restaurants), we were interested in trying it. We were greeted, taken to a table and given menus. That's where service ended. We had to go to the bar and ask about the special wine bar service and how it worked. The server provided very few details and told us nothing about these special wines. It felt like either he knew nothing about the service or just couldn't be bothered to explain it. Based on what we were told, we found it to be much pricier than we anticipated.

We ordered food and waited 45 to 50 minutes for the food. Since there were only a couple patrons in addition to us, we expected the food to arrive sooner and were surprised that no one updated us. We were looking into the kitchen and trying to get our waiter's attention (who was also tending the bar) but no luck. The person who greeted us spent the rest of our two hours there at a round table on a computer. I was going to the bar to ask where the food was when it finally arrived. The food was average. The prime and Italian flatbreads were average to good but the seafood flatbread had no flavor. The service was the big downfall. The person who gave us the menus never checked in on us during the two hours we were there.

The atmosphere didn't seem to have much personality. It told you nothing about the restaurant. A scrabble board on the wall and a disco ball? Seating was comfortable.

We eventually had to go to the bar to inquire about our check. The service person was abrupt and not at all personable. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience.

We had our wedding welcome party at Salute and it was great!! Our guests loved all the fun cocktails and it was great having so many different areas to hangout between the outdoor space, the bar and the game room! Kim, the owner, and Mike, the general manager, were so fantastic to work with and we are so grateful for all of their help during our wedding weekend! Love this new place to go with friends! The drinks are creative and delicious! It’s especially nice that there are many NA choices as well. The food menu is perfect for sharing.
