Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in El Dorado

Tip: A bad waitress can ruin a customers whole experience at a restaurant when dining in. I had to go to Ringgold, Louisiana and i passed on going to every other restaurant that i could have visited and decided to wait 2hrs 55mins and go to Applebees in Eldorado, Arkansas so that i would be closer to home instead of trying something new. I was seated by an employee and after about 15 minutes my waitress came over to ask was I ready to order. She took my order and after about another 15 minutes she brought a water to the table that I didn't order and at that point i was about ready to cancel my order but i didnt want to be an ass and just leave because i was sure that the kitchen was probably already in the process of making my food already. We'll 10 minutes after that I finally got my drinks, a crown on the rocks a double, and a top shelf long island iced tea which was brought to me by a young man that was working the bar. I finished my drink that I was sipping out of the little straw and my food finally came out about another 20 minutes after that. My fork that was wrapped in the paper towel still had food stuck on it. The 8oz bourbon steak was overcooked and she forgot to bring out the sides for myself and my guest which I finally had to ask about. I asked for A1 sauce and it was brought to me in a little cup which i didnt trust you at this point so i would rather you had just brought me the bottle. I don't know if it's just this location or if I just got a bad waitress.

Update: While I was unhappy with the service I received while i was at Applebees, I was impressed by the effort put forth to correct the problem to make sure that I was taken care of the next time I visit this location. I'll have another...

My only regret is that I can't rate less than 1 star. Let me explain.

Tonight, my wife and I (who are African American) visited this establishment and received the worst service imaginable.

Upon arrival, we were seated immediately by a very nice hostess. She promptly gave us our menus and silverware and told us our server would be with us shortly. It was at this point that our dinner service went downhill.

We sat at our table no less than 25 minutes without a server approaching us. At this time, I asked my wife to speak to the hostess and request a manager visit our table.

At the moment the manager began to come to our table, the server who had been taking orders at the surrounding table in the area immediately came to us, asking for our drink orders.

I explained to the manager that we had been seated for quite a while and had received no acknowledgment. He was quick to apologize and sent the server away from our table. I then related to him what I had observed since being seated. Namely, that the server in that area had not only completely ignored my wife and I, but had taken the drink order of a couple (coincidentally Caucasian) who had been seated around 10-15 minutes later than us and had returned with their drinks.

The manager, though initially apologetic, had the gall to ask had my wife or I stopped any other server in the area. I calmly explained that it was not my job to stop and request service when my entire reason for being at the restaurant was to be served.

we went out lastnight (4/8/18) for my friends 21st birthday, a party of 6. when we got there the hostess sat us and said our server would be with us shortly. our original server said he didn’t want to take us so he made a new girl, mind you it’s her first night, take a 6 top table. she was great, but our over all service was beyond horrible. it starts with waiting 15 minutes for our drinks. after we ordered we waited 25-30 minutes for our appetizers, a different server brought it and only brought out 2 of the 3. then when they brought out our food, everything came out by itself. nothing was together. they send another server to let us know one of our meals couldn’t be made, after everyone else received theirs. one of our steaks was over cooked, and the bourbon street chicken was so over seasoned it’d choke you. we wanted the manager at this point. Josh came out and apologized and told us he’d get it all fixed for us, we sent the steak back, the chicken was taken off the tab, and we were okay! we then waited another 15-20 minutes for the steak to come back out, we’ve now been here for over an hour, and it was over cooked again. we told a different server we needed our ticket now, we weren’t happy with anything and we didn’t plan on paying for much. the manager proceeded to tell us to “shut the f* up” and called the cops.
