A great experience from start to finish. If you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine with outstanding service, this is the place to go.

They start you off with some of the best chips and salsa around. The chips are perfectly crisp, and the salsa has a fresh, vibrant flavor. A word of warning, though: they're so good, you might have to pace yourself to save room for the main course! For my entrée, I ordered the carne asada, and it was a true highlight. The steak was incredibly juicy and packed with flavor, tasting as if it had been marinating overnight to achieve that perfect depth. It was served as a generous platter with perfectly cooked rice, flavorful refried beans, fresh guacamole, and even a grilled jalapeño, making for a truly satisfying and authentic meal. While I stuck with the carne asada, the other dishes at our table, like the albondigas soup and the enchilada platters, looked equally delicious.

What really ties the whole experience together is the service. The wait staff at El Sombrero are top-notch—not just efficient, but genuinely and authentically friendly. Their positive attitude is infectious and is guaranteed to leave you in a good mood.

Overall, El Sombrero delivers on all fronts: delicious food, generous portions, and wonderful service. I highly...

Waiter seemed too busy to be bothered with us. he sat us asked what we wanted and left, he took a while to return to take our order. We asked for the TV to be changed to Kentucky Derby, he said he would see (there was us and maybe 4 other customers mind you. He finally did change it but did not change from mute??? Another customer came in and asked if the horse race was on and he said it was on. He disappeared again, another gentleman was behind the bar and we asked if he could un-mute the TV he said he would call the other Waiter to us. When he did he did tell him he did other things before he came over then he looked put out when he walked over we asked him if he could turn up the K Durby and he tells us he would see as he had other orders to take, my sister told him it would be finished and he talks back to my sister telling her that it started in 20min 🤨🤨🤨 he walked over to the other gentleman who had asked about the Durby also and this gentleman asked him to turn up the TV and he immediately did so 😲😲😲 Wow we are from Arizona we were told there were better places to go but we thought we would decide for ourselves... We made a bad choice the food was great the Michi was just ok but the waiter ruined our...

Long time local favorite Mexican food restaurant. I haven't had a chance to pay a patronage to this restaurant. Today we were invited to a friend's anniversary party here.

The restaurant did a good job setting up everything for the party and provided good drinks including awesome margaritas for the party crowd. Everyone seemed to enjoy the drinks judging from the noise level of the party.

The food was mediocre starting with the stale chips. I feel they should have at least make the chips crispy. Then we started the party with a Buffet. The buffet came with rice and refried beans as well as fajita with chickens and cheese enchiladas. I like the chicken fajitas which is one of my favorite Mexican food. They did a good job on this one with great flavors. The enchiladas was a bit disappointing. I felt there is not taste.

Despite all the mediocre food, the service was great. We had a good time with our friends creating a fun memory for all of us. Thanks to our friends who invited us and others that we have not seen for long time to provide an opportunity...

Decent food and quick service. The cocido was a redish broth which I didn't expect. It was very tasty none the less and the beef was lean and tender. The chips were fresh and the salsas were excellent. Overall food and service is solid. This place has been a local fixture and when I worked in Rosemead this was one of the restaurants on my lunch circuit. The bar area is nice for lunch. Doesn't smell like a bar and I just love TouchTunes Jukebox. Today was an all 80's lunch all for me. Parking spaces seem small so you might want to park a bit towards the middle of the lot. Help a local business and support.
