This review is based on 3 visits. The last 2 were what earned a 2 star review. All 3 were an experience face to face with the owner/manager, P.A. (she said so anyway, and I find it hard to believe based on my experience with her. If it's true, the days of this place are numbered.)

The first visit was on 10/19, I ordered a 12oz Columbian coffee. Only took them about 5-7min to make, still a while but worth the wait. The coffee was great, hot, no strong aftertaste. Very clean, robust flavor for a medium to high altitude coffee. I was very happy with the product. The service however was another story. She seemed very uncomfortable talking to me. Very insecure approach to answering basic questions about the types of coffee they sold and additions available. I didn't know she was the owner then, so I figured she was a new hire. I asked her if we can make phone orders and she confirmed.

Next visit, 10/25, I made a phone order for an Ethiopian 12oz coffee with 2oz of Soy, 15 MINUTES before. She warned me they were busy, but that she could make it happen. I arrived only to find that they hadn't even started my coffee, and there were 4 people in the lobby. All with coffee some with food. So I told her I would be right back, I returned back 30 min later, still no coffee. She said it was never made because it would be sitting too long and would end up being cold. Understandable.

Called in the next day, 10/26, 20-25 minutes prior. Ordered the same thing as before, Ethiopian with soy. She remembered me, and told me that she would make the coffee 10 min after my call "to make sure it's hot when I arrive" - we had that conversation on 10/25. I arrived and was told they were still working on my coffee. I asked how long and she told me it would be another 5 minutes. THEY WERE NOT WORKING ON MY COFFEE, THEY HAD JUST STARTED AS SOON AS THEY SAW ME WALKING TO THE ENTRANCE. She knew it was me on the phone, which makes me think I'm the only one making phone orders.

I then confronted her, without knowing she was the manager at the time, about my bad experience the last 2 visits, as she was the root of it BOTH TIMES. Her ego took over, and lead her response with smirk to her coworker and then to me. No apology, but instead an explanation of coffee brewing. When I reminded her about her allowing phone orders and that both times I called WELL IN ADVANCE, she gave me an open smile, as if she would laugh and looked at her coworker. I then proceeded to walk out - no coffee, no apology, Nada.

I called to make a complaint regarding the employee's lack of empathy and customer service. That's when I learned the manager/owner was the person I had been dealing with this whole time. Still no apology for leaving me with no coffee at 8AM, during a work week, for 2 days - back to back. No apology for the false expectations she created. Just an impromptu crash course on her job description and coffee brewing practices. Just like her I didnt have any, effs to give.

It's safe to say that I won't be returning. Either this manager has her customer demographic all figured out, or she's just ignorant to the business side of things. I'm saying it here, this business won't survive. It's days...

I’m really disappointed in myself to actually be writing a google review, as I try to refrain from doing this. But I’m even more disappointed in my experience at District this morning. In town for work, have been excited to try District since last time I was here. The barista informed me that they didn’t have a syrup I wanted, and said something along the lines of how mocha was all he had. I said that’s fine if it’s all he’s got & changed my order up. It also seemed like he was in a rush to get me through, which is understandable for a coffee shop... but there was only two of us inside, I could’ve waited a few for him to do his thing. While waiting I focused my vision (am nearsighted and can not see very well in the mornings until my eyes have had a chance to adjust) and noticed a wall of torini syrups, asked him why he said he only had one syrup & he replied something about how he was out of the original syrup i requested - which makes no sense to me. He also made no attempt to work with me even though he was just building the mocha base for the drink, and furthermore after serving me I made sure to say thank you, to nothing back but a quick glare. He might’ve been busy, but I’ve had Starbucks employees say thank you with 5x the momentary workload. My drink was also incredibly subpar, whatever he made me is too much milk & mocha, I have zero idea there’s coffee in here. So 3 stars this morning. Like I said I was really excited to try District, which is why I’m leaving this review because when I’m back in town I still plan to try it again in the hopes this review allows District to realize where there needs to be a little bit of a change. Everyone has bad days, today was probably a fluke considering the reviews. Same goes for the barista. So hopefully this review will do just that - and I’m excited to try District again when I’m...

They have all the basics/necessities for a tasty bagel, breakfast sandwich, or loaded toast. What makes this place really stand out is a unique menu (on top of the basics) along with high-quality ingredients. It's hard to find lox bagels in El Paso in general, so it was nice to see it here. Good quality salmon for their toast was soft, flavorful, and not too salty and was paired deliciously with spicy Pico de gallo & delicious tomato cream cheese. The cream cheese is interesting here since it has the texture of mayo almost, not too fluffy but very creamy. The black coffee is perfectly balanced, not too bitter, smoky, or acidic. The rose latte was well made, not overly sweet, but I was disappointed that you couldn't taste the rose syrup past the coffee flavor, yet, it was probably the best latte I've had in a while. Amazing pastries to really round out all your cravings. The one I had was like a high-quality toaster strudel, and I'd go back for every single thing I ate here. The cheese Danish was more puff pasty than cheese, but it was such a large slice, I'm not surprised it felt a bit imbalanced on the bread to cheese ratio. Service was quick, professional,...

I LOVE COFFEE. Always have but after working at Starbucks I gained a much deeper understanding, love and appreciation for coffee and it’s process. So after a year I was finally able to go to District with a friend and might have fangirled a little bit. The decor and overall ambience is very fitting. Very laid back and easy going. The staff again are very friendly and helpful regardless of your knowledge of either coffee or their menu. Their food looks good but I haven’t tried it yet, so I can’t really comment on that. I had the District Latte with an extra shot of espresso (So three shots). Wow! Surprisingly very smooth and balanced despite the extra shot. My friend had a black cold brew and I was surprised by again how smooth it was, since I’ve only had and (made Starbucks cold brew from when I worked there) and secondly I don’t really like cold brew. So it was a pleasant surprise. The playlist was really good, I can’t remember who it was but it was a alternate indie rock band. I plan on going back soon and will review more items.

I came here once with my family around Christmas and the service was terrible, they were incredibly rude to my family and the drip coffee was unavailable and the latte was okay. I decided to come back and give it another try on my own, I had the vanilla bean matcha and it was great. I had been searching for good matcha and was excited to have found some, I decided to come back and bring my sister. It was a different guy and I don’t know what he did but it did not taste like matcha at all. It may as well have been milk, I brought the drink back to ask if we could get more matcha and as I was trying to explain why he cut me off brought the matcha and just dropped in a scoop. Which did nothing to change the flavor because the drink wasn’t made correctly to begin with and then he didn’t bother to fix it correctly either. I understand it may have been busy, but as a barista myself I still take the time to fix the mistakes that I made.
