Lapa Lapa Seafood & Drinks — Restaurant in El Paso

I had a pretty disappointing experience at this place. While the space is nice and clean, the service leaves a lot to be desired. The server messed up my order—I asked for a fish ceviche, but she brought me shrimp instead. After waiting almost an hour for my correct order, she came back offering the shrimp ceviche, saying we could have it because they were going to throw it away. She even suggested packing it up in a to-go box. My companion tasted a bit of it, and to my surprise, they charged us for it when the bill arrived..

I politely asked about it, and the server claimed that since I said I’d take it, I had to pay for it—even though it was her mistake in the first place. The situation became really uncomfortable because she took a hostile attitude, offering a “discount” that didn’t really solve anything. On top of that, some prices didn’t match the menu, and when I pointed it out, she said, “That’s how it shows up on a single ticket,” which felt shady.

When I refused to pay for the shrimp ceviche she had offered without mentioning any cost, she had the nerve to take the box back even though it had already been handled. This made me wonder if they do this with other dishes.

The service was incredibly slow, despite only having three occupied tables. It really shouldn’t take that long to serve...

Decided to try this new DT venue, especially because I strongly support local establishments. My daughter and I left very disappointed after a not so great experience. 1/ We ordered the shrimp chile con queso as an appetizer, which was great. The tortillas were warm and the queso was delicious. 2/ for our main dish, dish we decided to share the whole Black Bass. BIG mistake. It was terrible. It was basically a frozen fish thrown into some hot oil, over fried with absolutely no seasoning— not even salt! I’m not one to send back food, but tii hi is was ridiculous, especially for the price! It was simply inedible. 3/ the é prim é as worse because of the wait staff. A teenage girl who was on her phone even while waiting and seemed clueless to help us. When we explained the problem with the fish she pointed to the salt shaker! We had to ask another teenager waiter for help as np manager or responsible adult was available. Worst dining experience I've received. My coworkers and I, party of 10, went to grab lunch on a Friday, we understood we were a bigger party but there were about 2-3 tables, the restaurant was empty. They took about 40 mins to give us all of our drinks, 20 more for us to get tostadas. After an hour and a half of being there and still not getting our food we mentioned to them we needed to leave and take the food to-go, our lunch break had already passed 30 minutes. The server said, "have you really been here for 1hr 30 mins?" The manager finally stepped in and after 2 hours and several orders wrong we left. I ordered only a tostada and they gave me a whole dish of ceviche, which has not been the first time they've had mistakes like this....
