My girlfriend and I have gone to this restaurant about 4 times. But twice, our plates have been a big disappointment.
The first disappointment, we had ordered flautas. The flautas were hard, (extra crispy), with hardly any meat. We didn't say anything, just paid and left.
Second disappointment, we went the following weekend hoping that we would have had a better experience, but sadly it wasn't, just more of the same. This time we ordered the Milanesa plates. The meat inside of the breading was so thin that the breading was burnt crispy. The side salad had extremely thin sliced avocado with dark circles on it and the French fries were also darkish crispy as though the oil in the fryer had not been changed. We were only able to eat about half of the servings on our plates and left the rest.
The male server, who I believe is part of this family owned business, approached us to ask: "How was everything"? I wasn't going to say anything, but I was so disappointed that I felt that I had to say something since he asked. So I politely did. And I showed him our plates of what we had left. And explained to him why we were disappointed. He first tried to give an excuse concerning the Milanesa meat. He told us that they had no control over the quality of the meat that the meat company sends to them. Seriously!?! I know, that if the quality of any product is not there, then the restaurant reserves the right to set aside those food items and request credit for anything that is not acceptable. His response tells me that they could care less about the quality of food they serve to their customers. He appeared a bit annoyed and he asked me loud enough, (for other customers to hear), what is it that you want me to do for you, give you free food? I was offended by that question and how he asked. My response to him was, of course not, but I would appreciate it, if the owner would consider providing to us a discount for how our plates turned out. Supposedly, he went to ask the owner, but never returned back to provide us with an answer from the owner.
So after waiting for about 3 minutes, we just got up to pay so we can leave. So when we approached the cashier to pay, that male server, moved aside the cashier to charge us. I had thought it was because he was going to provide to us, a small discount after all. But when we saw the total, (of almost $30), I knew that NO discount was given at all.
It's ashame, (as returning customers), that the owners of this restaurant preferred not to lose a penny, rather than to correct the wrong that they did AND to understand and most importantly, keep their customers satisfied. (So they can keep coming back).
Going forward, they have lost our business. We will NOT be returning to that restaurant again nor will we refer anyone to them...
Read moreSo I'm in for a few days and wanted to get some breakfast tacos. When I arrived I saw that the place was packed and only open till 3pm. I was thinking this can go one of 2 ways, either really good or really, really bad. My buddy and I decided to give it a try. The parking was totally packed, so we parked across the street. We walked it and didn't have to wait long.
I ordered the Texicana and Barbacoa tacos, and my buddy ordered the Red plate.
Service was great the waiter came around multiple times to check in us and was very attentive. All the food seemed to be made fresh. Guacamole and salsa were great!.

Read moreThis place is unassuming. It's not particularly attractive from the outside. The interior has the murals and light orange and brown color palate common to Mexican restaurants everywhere.
What is uncommon here, is the quality of the food and service. The corn chips were fresh fried tortillas, so hot we had to let them cool down for a moment. The green chili sauce had so much flavor I kept trying it over and over again in an attempt to figure out what the secret was.
The tacos el pastor my wife selected were rich and flavorful. I chose beef bistec, it was essentially beef roasted with jalepenos and onions. I ate the entire plate and then sopped up the juice with a tortilla.
The lady who waited on us was very nice and attentive.
After about 3 months of living in the southwest, this is the best Mexican food I have had the pleasure of eating. Do not...
