ATTENTION! BE AWARE OF THE STAFF AND HOSTS / HOSTESSES. I love the food..plain and simple. BUT THE EMPLOYEES ARE A DIFFERENT STORY. The servers do their best in an environment that's always busy and I commend them. The bartenders are ok but they will get your beer wrong. I asked for a Karbach Hopadillo and I got another Karbach beer that wasn't the Hopadillo, the bartender argued I said "Karbach" to her (which I obviously did since thats the brewery name) and acted like she knew what she was doing and that somehow justified a wrong beer. Bless her little heart.
The hosts / hostess are the one to watch out for. It's understandable to be upset in a job that's bombarding you with customers who pay good money for the food, it's another thing to take that sorry attitude on the customers. If the place is busy, the host will just try and get you out the way. Little contact, no smile or friendly attitude and half the time they get the name or phone number wrong. If you don't like the job, just leave and let someone who wants to work there take the position.
MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT about them is a recent incident occurred this Black Friday night at round 7:00, where my GF ordered take out from them and they quoted her 10 minutes. She ended up their for 40 minutes and the sad thing was her food was right there behind the host and the poor excuse of the host couldn't do a 180 and give her the food. They told her to her face, they forgot the food was there and STILL MADE HER PAY. Very poor move on the restaurants part. Who doesn't like cold wings?! Am I right?!
Sorry to go on but I'm making sure this is heard out so hopefully the managers can do their job properly and whip the employees into shape. But I don't see that happening since it's the same every visit.
Managers, just get your bartenders and hosts in check. As an employee of the service industry, I empathize the situation, it's busy as hell and frustrating. But if their is no order in the chaos, don't be surprised to get more negative reviews like this.
Again, good food and the servers are doing their best. Bartenders and hosts just need to get their act up better. Next time we're quoted 10 minutes for take out, it'll be 10 minutes hopefully and not a long wait time for the host to be able to to the job right. (Not cool to make someone pay for cold wings when the employee was the one who messed it all up).
If the company feels like they need to reach out to me over these gripes, feel free to. I'd be glad to chat one on one.
Thanks to those who took the time...
Read moreI was asked to do a review when I posted that I was going to try the Double Dip wings at Track One. The wings come in a full order (10 wings) or half order (5 wings). I decided to treat myself with a full order. For those of you wondering, Double Dip is a combination of honey and hot sauce— Honey Hot. When I think Honey Hot, the first thing that comes to mind is spicy with a slight taste of sweetness, but that wasn’t the case with these wings... Instead it was more on the sweet side than it was hot. I ended up asking for an extra side of hot sauce because it wasn’t to my liking. Not to say the original sauce combination isn’t good at all, but I needed more spice. For purposes of referencing Honey Hot sauces: (For the record, I’m not a fan of Wing Daddy’s food) Wing Daddy’s Honey Hot sauce is definitely hotter than what you could expect at Track One.
The menu describes the wings as breaded, but it doesn’t taste like the breaded texture you’d experience from wings offered by Albertsons, Walmart, or any other location that offers a hot lunch deli. Their breading gives off more of a crunchy texture that I would compare to asking for your wings to be cooked EXTRA crispy. If “breading” is stopping you from trying these wings, order the half order to split with a friend, then order something else on the menu.
A lot of places like Lil Caesars give you little wingdings, but the size of the wings at Track One are as standards as they get. I personally hate wings that look like they’re on steroids or have been genetically mutated. I ate 7 wings before I started to feel full.
Honestly, I’d probably go back if this wasn’t my last weekend in El Paso. If you haven’t already, go try the wings before you forget they exist. Overall, the location isn’t too bad. From outside you’d probably think it’s a bit packed inside, well it is. The seating arrangement actually help considering you’re dining in two rail cars. We weren’t dining on top of each other, but if someone was standing between two tables, there is no room for you to walk around. The size of the restaurant is a plus if you like to smell all of what the kitchen is cooking. We sat in the back of the first rail car and I enjoyed smelling all the different foods. Other than that, we arrived at 11am and were seated rather quickly. Our server Cristina and the rest of the staff were on top...
Read moreEdit: on my iPad, I was able to add photos. You can see how one wing was bit into in one photo, and the picture my friend took of our uneaten food, and my unfinished drink. Track One was horrible!
If I could leave no stars I would! So, my friend and I heard a lot about this restaurant since arriving to the city. We decided to try it out. I was so shocked at my experience here, that I was shaking when I left. For basic drinks like a blue Long Island, they didn’t know how to make it (no problem), I asked for an amaretto sour instead, my drink was all sour and hard to finish (which I didn’t finish). My friend and I both ordered the double dipped wings with a half order of fries. Her fries were cold, I took a bite into the chicken and it smelled raw; like uncooked; that didn’t surprise me because we got our wings under 15 mins. Wings being cooked that quickly is a recipe for disaster! The one wing I took a bite into and didn’t finish, left me disappointed. I asked the waitress if I may return the wings because I didn’t like them (I didn’t want to be rude and tell her they smelled), and she asked what’s wrong and I stated again “I don’t like them, may I order a burger instead to replace this.” She hesitated, and told me she would speak to her manger. She came back, and told me her manager stated “she can order another burger, but won’t get a refund for the wings, and you still have to pay for the wings.” Keep in mind, I only bit into one wing and didn’t even finish that one wing. I have never been to an establishment where I had to pay for uneaten, or unsatisfactory food. I wanted to order something else to replace the wings, and they flat out told me I would have to pay for the wings AND another meal. My friend and I paid for the BS uneaten meal, and left the food there. I am so disgusted and highly upset! You should be ashamed of yourself to think this is okay to treat paying customers this way. I wish I could upload the photos of the food we left on the table, but unfortunately. I am not sure if I can do that on google review. Track one is a joke, and Idk how their wings are...
