Monarch — Restaurant in El Paso

I have been there at least a dozen times, with friends and alone. I like the place, the beer selection and the spirits' list, albeit short, will cover most desires. What really turns me off to the point of offense is the bartender. The same long haired guy with glasses other people have talked about. He manages to make you feel as if he is doing a big sacrifice for serving you a drink. It doesn't matter if it's a beer or a whiskey with soda water. The guy has really a bad vibe to him and he contaminates the whole place with dark energy. I might go again because it's midway between my job and my home, but I am not tripping him again. I've been frequenting this bar for quite some time now and I can honestly say that Monarch is home to some of the best bar tenders and red beers in town! The place is cozy, but I certainly stay for the people. A DJ lover's paradise in the sense that they feature frequent DJ shows, some of which are performed by the bartenders themselves. A fantastic little bar with a completely unique atmosphere. Crowd age ranges from college kids to the older folks who use to frequent this place when it was Dedo.
