I'm sorry I don't usually post reviews but my dining experience was absolutely terrible as our food goes. I ordered the beef brisket spring roll appetizer but I had to send it back as it looked like it was not fresh and after one bite realized it was old and didn't taste well. I ordered the grilled beef with rice and when I got it I noticed the beef did not smell the way it should and my girlfriend said it smelled disgusting, but I was hungry so I ate part of it and after eating about a fourth of it I could not deal with it anymore and stopped thinking this is going to make me sick. My girlfriend ordered the teriyaki chicken and in the picture it was sliced prime chicken and when she got it it was cubed chicken and after a few bites she said she could not deal with it either because it did not taste well and she told me this is the worst food she's has ever eaten in her life and so we paid for our meals and left. Later in the evening I got sick and was sick all night and sick the following morning from the beef that I think was bad. My girlfriend said she would never eat there again and I agreed with her so that place is off of our list for good. I love Vietnamese food and have eaten at many different Vietnamese restaurants but never experienced worse food than there. Very...
Read moreI’ve passed this place a couple of times and didn’t think twice about it. There is a Pho place in the NE that I’ve become accustomed to.
But for some reason I was drawn into this place today. I walk in and the lighting is really low (which I LOVE) and it’s a big open eating area. Most places I’ve been to since moving back have been tiny and crowded. Not this place. The waitress was very sweet and soft spoken (again I LOVE that!!) when she approached my table to get my order.
I always order the Rare Steak Pho where ever I go and its usually hit or miss. But this batch was AMAZING!!! The broth was so clean tasting and very fragrant (before I added my spices to it) it wasn’t fatty and didn’t have the grease floating on the top of the broth. The steak pieces were perfect the right bite sized shape. The plate with the add-ins had a generous heap of bean sprouts and plenty of jalapeños and limes.
I fee like I’ve ranted on, but this place is amazing. I will be returning to this Pho...
Read moreThere’s a saying in my family where if a menu is in English at a Viet restaurant.. it will not be good. We gave this place a chance since we we’re close by.. I knew it was a mistake. The red flag was the menu itself, also seeing something called “yellow noodle” like just say egg noodle 😂
Now onto the food:
Charbroiled Chicken... this is not real chicken. The chicken was rubbery. Sadly the only thing good was the fried spring roll.
The YeLlOw NoOdLe w shrimp and pork... the broth is not great, it only got better with Lime..
The worst of it all and idk how you can mess this up: THE SPRING ROLLS. Super wet and airy (which traditionally they are wrapped tight. The shrimp and veggies were clearly old. The Peanut sauce was dreadful, it tasted like someone threw in straight up rice wine.
The best Vietnamese authentic food in El Paso is hands down a place called “Viet Restaurant”. Everything is made to perfection and the taste is authentic. Don’t waste your time...
