Andale Mexican Restaurant and Cantina — Restaurant in El Paso

I have been coming to this restaurant for a long time. Since the pandemic and the reopening of the restaurant, the service and the attitude of the managers, it has gone down. The servers are a representation of how the management attitude and the type of hospitality is given to all their customers. I understand that being in the restaurant business, it's hard for one because most of the workers live of their tips. Sine I've returned the restaurant charges a 3 to 5 percent when you pay with a debit or credit card. I know one has to make money, but wow charging an extra amount on a card. I think its ridiculous. This restaurant was once a beloved and great to go eat, know it's sad to say I can't stand being inside. The service is bad and the manager looks like she runs a hostile environment with the way the servers work. The servers use to talk to the people and laugh, but now they don't even Crack a smile. Also,when one enters the business you smell the sewage from the restroom and that is really disgusting. I hope the owners read this and return the original personal making the restaurant back to its once beloved ways and it's atmosphere. It's really sad to see this once hopping restaurant into a slave driving restaurant. I love the weekday lunch special at Andale! You get soup, a large lunch portion of food, a drink, and dessert. We have been there for dinner as well. The lunch prices are a great value! The service can sometimes be hit or miss. I also question their choice of seating. The restaurant was almost empty and they sat a large group next to our table with very little room in between. The server had to pass our food over the other table to hand it to us because she couldn't get close enough to us due to the other people being so close. When we got ready to leave, we had to ask people at the other table to get up so we could get by them. I felt trapped in my seat once the other table had been sat down. There was plenty of room in the restaurant for the large group to be sat a little farther away so we all would have been comfortable. Another time, we didn't get checked on at all and we never got drink refills that time. We had to go to the front and ask for a box and our check. Overall, it was just a couple of bad experiences. We reserved our Christmas party here and spoke to management on 3 separate occasions and not once did they tell us any accommodations would have to be made for our party. The day of we were told there would only be 3 servers and because of this everything would have to be on one ticket and we had to choose a selected menu. Before this, we were under the impression that it would be full menu and each person would be paying for themselves. When they showed us their “selected menu” plates were adding up to about $25 a person. Not once did they tell us any of this and when we spoke to the manager he said there was nothing he could do and everything had to be on one ticket but when it came to the alcoholic beverages they were charging them separately…so what was the reason of not being able to charge each person individually drinks and food if you were doing it for drinks already? It made no sense. All in all I was very dissatisfied in the lack of communication between us and management and their lack of empathy towards us.
