This was our first experience with Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and it will not be our last. It was a great experience from making the reservation until we walked out of the restaurant. We arrived about 20 minutes early and they had no issue seating us early. While we were waiting for them to set up our table (I pre-ordered drinks and they decorated our table for our Anniversary), the (who I assume was the manager on duty) was very personable and gave us a quick back story of Ms. Ruth, which is a awesome story. Then we were seated and our waiter, Eduardo, who was absolutely amazing, shared with us his suggestion of his favorite appetizer which was the spicy shrimp. We ended up going with the Goat Cheese Artichoke and Spinach dip which came with baguettes. It was delicious. Then we ordered a ribeye (med-rare) that was grilled perfectly and had great flavor, a Filet Mignon (medium) also grilled perfectly and tasted amazing and was very tender, creamed spinach which was awesome, Cremini Mushrooms that were in a broth and were very good and lastly the Lobster Macaroni and Cheese, while it was good we both thought that the cheese over powered the lobster. The lobster by itself tasted really good and was not over cooked, it seems as though they may use an extra sharp white cheddar which normally I love but I was not expecting that in the dish and like we said, over powered the other flavors of the dish. For dessert, I pre-ordered my wife a Crème Brûlée and myself a flourless Sin Cake. I requested to have “Happy 12th Anniversary” on her plate and “I love you” on my plate in their Raspberry sauce. They told me that couldn’t be done with the Raspberry sauce because it doesn’t write well and that they would have to use chocolate for writing. I was ok with that but when our desserts came out, the writing was in the raspberry sauce and it was all sooo good! They box your leftovers for you and place them in a to go bag. Everyone was nice from the lady that called to confirm the reservation, the manager when we got to the restaurant and our amazing waiter, Eduardo. We had heard rumors that Ruth’s Chris was overrated but I think that is a false accusation. We were extremely happy with our experience and will dine at this establishment again. I will forewarn though that you will spend a couple hundred dollars but it is completely worth it. Thank you again to Eduardo and the staff at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse for making our Anniversary...
Read moreI’ve been to a few Ruth’s Chris locations when I lived in SoCal and they were always top quality and service, so I expected no less of this location despite it being in El Paso. My husband and I set reservations for his birthday on Halloween. We were a little late but it was no issue, the restaurant was completely empty when we arrived. The hostess was welcoming and sat us right away. We had a booth large enough for a family, but very roomy for just two people.
The restaurant is located within an outdoor shopping mall so it’s different than other standalone locations I used to frequent. Our waiter that served us for the evening was good. He came around to check on us often, however, I do feel service was a bit slow. I enjoy a good dining experience but we were there for two hours. Much longer than the average dinner at a restaurant.
Mode our meals my husband ordered the ribeye steak with the Parmesan crust. I absolutely LOVE their Caesar salad, so that was my first choice. For sides we got the max and cheese, au gratin potatoes and my husband wanted to try their garlic mashed potatoes as well.
Everything tasted great! I will note that the sides weren’t as hot as I would have expected if it was just prepared. All of the dishes were just Luke warm. The mac and cheese would have been nice with more sauce as well, came out a bit dry.
I did appreciate that our server gave my husband a cute little cheesecake for his birthday. He also brought one out for me as well which I thought was very sweet.
Overall I’d say our dining experience was worthy of 4 stars. The only reason I exclude a star is due to the long time it took between courses and receiving our check as well as the side dishes not being hot and fresh like I would have expected. Other than that I will say my husband and I had a good experience at this location for...
Read moreWent on a romantic dinner date with my partner on Valentine’s day. The high end establishment was very welcoming. Hostess maintained high level of professionalism and was very cheery as we waited to be seated. Mind you, the place was packed for the special night we had. Waitress immediately got us seated, order was taken and were very surprised by the standard and duality of presentation, portion and taste of the food. We both selected the prix fixe special they offered as this was our first time dining at a high end restaurant. We also shared a delicious pomegranate martini recommended by a friend. I had the fillet with lobster while my partner had the fillet with shrimp. Starters were plentiful but the main entree does not mess around with its portion. You will get a fair share of everything. The lobster was well seasoned, every inch of meat packed with flavor, fillet on the other hand was cooked to my preference but could have used a tad bit more seasoning. Mashed potatoes were somewhat underwhelming and dry to the mouth, but the steamed broccoli suffices the entree well. I recommend getting that instead. Lastly, the cheesecake dessert was delivered perfectly and presented a wonderful mix of creaminess and sweetness of berries on the side. For what it’s worth, the prix fixe offers a slice at what to expect from a restaurant of this level. This is merely the surface of other high end and luxurious dining but this of course comes at a great price and an adventurous mind. Would recommend for...
