The dated decor, to include heavy paneling and officepark light fixtures, feel very dated. The seats are also cheap and not comfortable. Why do restaurants in El Paso always have such terrible seating? Nowhere I can think of can you relax in a large upholstered chair. Instead you have to sit in a church stackable chair like this or- slightly worse- a metal garden chair or -worst of all- one of those metal stools with a hole in the seat which you have to scrape loudly along a cement floor. Why, in El Paso, has it not occurred to a single restaurateur to invest in decent chairs? Must they all be purgatorial experiences? The worst is a Sinaloa- style fish place whose name escapes me, which has carved wooden bucket seats that while authentically Mexican beach style have rattan woven sides and front that seem unable to be cleaned properly. But I was talking about Señor Fish. I remember my parents going here in the 80's, and it does seem like their decor remins unchanged . Their menu is passable wide, as you expect, and their dinner special is fish done in one of a dozen or so styles. I had the ajillo style, which was not superheated, but had a garkicy red Chile sauce that had enough of a bite.it came with the ever present accompaniments--French dinner rolls, garden salad, buttered baked potato. Why is every fish restaurant in El Paso...
Read moreLet's start with the food. I had fish soup which was the special for today. The fish was not fresh and it was tough and unflavorful. The steak my husband had was also tough. There were 2 available tables with missing chairs. The waitress called us to seat ourselves. She stood by watching my husband grab extra chairs from an occupied table so we'd have somewhere to sit. The waitress spoke Spanish (so do I) and I asked her if she could speak English to my husband who is Korean American. The entire time she seemed so annoyed and so was I, but I'm not working for a tip. I didn't finish my soup. There was never a thank you as we were ready to pay. My husband gave me the key to go to our car. When he returned, he said neither the waitress or the other woman assisting with check out said "thank you", "hope to see you again", "have a great day", etc. He still left an undeserved $5 tip. Bottom line, the service and food was terrible. I hope the waitress has...
Read moreThe young female employees that work here at Señor Fish seem to be in a hurry to close early. I believe they are cheating their boss by closing the business way too early. I took my family to eat at Señor Fish and we got there at 4:26pm but the doors where locked already. The sign was still lit ON saying OPEN so we left back to Las Cruces. My family and I have come on different days of the week just to have the same disappointing experience. It’s not the first time this happens to us. If their uncaring employees are closing early, at least have the decency to TURN OFF the freaking SIGN. Some of us customers come from Las Cruces to enjoy some seafood. Now after all these attempts of coming to eat here and finding the place closed, my family and I have decided to STOP eating at Señor Fish. People please don’t waste your gas and time trying to come eat here because their employees simply don’t care for customers. Their employees are more in a rush to...
