We've been to Montana Mike's twice in the last month and I have no intention of returning. Both visits were on Sunday at lunch for different family member's birthdays and we had a party of 8-10 each time.
The first visit we were seated in the large open room with the oversized booths. The AC on the opposite side of the restaurant was broken so their solution was to blast the AC on the side we were sitting. The vents were right over our table and it was so fridged we asked to have it turned down or off. Because we were in the other room our server was not attentive. The manager was great though. She came to check on us because she could see we weren't being waited on and apologized profusely.
Our visit today was really terrible. The AC was blasting again so I assume they haven't fixed their AC in the 3 weeks since we'd been there. We've had the same server in past visits and he was great. Today though? No. He looked like he couldn't be bothered. He never introduced himself and just started rudely asking what people wanted. He was so unpleasant it was shocking. We had been there for 45 minutes and they hadn't even brought out bread yet. When asked if we could get some bread (one person in our party was getting low blood sugar) his response was that he hadn't got our salads together so he wasn't bringing bread out yet. The manager came out less than 2 minutes later with bread and apologized. She's been great each visit and had apologized for the bad service despite our never complaining. Anyway, it's been nearly 90 minutes and we finally got our food. It should also be noted that another large party sitting next to us got their food first despite arriving 20 minutes after our group. I ordered the 10 oz sirloin medium and my brother-in-law ordered the T-bone well done. We each got the steak we wanted but cooked the opposite way. My steak looked unappealing, was over cooked, and not even steak sauce (that we had to get ourselves because of the poor service) could save it. My fiance got the chicken tenders and could only eat half of one tender because they were rubbery and tasted like they came from the microwave. The mac and cheese was so gross he only took one bite.
Between the mediocre (at best) food and abysmal service, it's my hope to never return. Its not worth driving 30 minutes from OKC to be treated in the manner we were today and be served microwaved food. I don't think I'll have a hard time convincing the family to switch restaurants after these...
Read moreIf Google allowed me to rate this place a big ol’ ZERO starts, I would! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Rude bartender, rude servers. Bartender (woman, mid 40s, dark hair) was literally talking bad about guests to another server as I was standing at the bar, after waiting approx 7-8 mins. At door, servers just walked by, ABSOLUTELY NO COMMUNICATION from ANYONE! I tried calling for a 15 minute period to place a simple Togo order ( literally ONE SWEET POTATO) no answer! So I came in. I told the bartender I had a Togo order, after again waiting for about 5 to 6 minutes just to be acknowledged. She replied extremely rude saying it’s going to be awhile. I said very empathetically and kind, it’s only for a sweet potato. She said the same thing, same rudeness, same attitude! It’s going to be a while! I’ve been waiting for ONE sweet potato TOGO for 30 mins! At least! I understand times are different but I am a server, have been for 20+ yrs. I serve, do Togo, help bartend, and host so I understand the work and the stress. But there is absolutely no excuse for no communication, rudeness, attitudes, or waiting this long for a potato. Especially after waiting almost 15 mins to just be acknowledged! I make good money serving and it’s because I make my guest’s my priority! No one here seems to care about guest satisfaction! And I would have tipped her well, even after waiting, all I expected was some simple communication and common courtesy. Even if the communication was a “server lie”, it would have been more than what I received. Tell me why I went into the restaurant about five minutes till 8 PM, and it is 8:45 PM and I’m just now leaving? For one sweet potato? That is absolutely beyond unacceptable in any restaurant or customer service job! This was the most despicable experience I have experienced in quite a while, even in today’s changing environment and world! And on a sidenote, I don’t know what your guys’ expectations or requirements are for taking food out to a guest, but even at the most fine dining restaurants to the lowest quality restaurants that I’ve ever seen or been to, when you bring a steak or ribeye or any protein that requires a choice of/or request of a specific temperature out to a guest you do not leave the temperature sticks in the protein, for the guest to remove! I am beyond annoyed and extremely...
Read moreWe placed a Togo order almost 25 minutes before we got to the restaurant. 8 ordered a 14 oz ribeye and a new York strip. Qe told the young lady over the phone how far away we were, and she said that was plenty of time for them to have it ready. We arrived 20 min later, and I asked for a Togo order, and I'm told there were no Togo orders. I show the lady where I called it in. She leaves and comes back and said oh they are still working on it. Come to find out the lady that took the order forgot to put it in. I spoke to the manager, and he acted like he cared at the same time brushing me off. He could have cared less. He just wanted me out.
The food was good but probably won't go back.
UPDATE: The owner was kind enough to send me gift cards to try this again. Me and the wife drove over and was seated right away. Drinks come to table promptly, and we ordered an appetizer, fried mushrooms, and fries Zucchini. The waitress come back a few minutes later and took our food order. I ordered the 14 oz ribeye, medium with FF, and the wife ordered the new York strip with baked potatoes and mushrooms. As we were waiting for the appetizer, our ENTREES showed up. I asked about our appetizer, the waitress stated what appetizer. Then it was like a light bulb come on. She said BRB, she ran to the kitchen and promptly come out with appetizer, she apologized they had been sitting in the windows, no one knew who they belonged too. When they arrived, they were Luke warm and mushy. I cut into my ribeye, and it was overcooked. I flagged the waitress down she apologized and took the steak to get me another. My wife is now halfway through her meal now when they bring out the next ribeye, again supposed to be medium and come out medium rare. I asked the waitress if this was medium, she stated no undercooked. She offered to fix me another ribeye but I stated no forget my order. Since I had the owners email I stated I would email him about my experience. While I waited for my wife to finish, I paid for our appetizer that was mushy from waiting and our drinks. The waitress told us the manager was looking at things and would be out shortly. It's funny the manager was out visiting tables but never came to ours. I wouldn't waste your time...
