Rock & Brews — Restaurant in El Segundo

I want to start by saying I am an El Segundo resident of 15 years and an on and off contractor at Chevron Refinery.. I started coming to Rock and Brews back in 2012 and even have a photo with Gene Simmons back in 2013 ( shown below ).. This is mine and my buddies spot for Monday and Thursday night football.. over the years when the guys wanted to grab a beer I would always suggest Rock and Brews.. Tonight there were 2 Monday night games and we made a reservation a week early for 4 PM game to grab some food and drinks.. The place was mostly empty when we arrived and I requested our regular seat to watch the first half.. We were told a big group reserved the tables and benches.. I said we had a reservation and we’re only staying for the first half.. She said no and seated us against the wall with an obstructed view .. These seats along the wall are horrible because the flies from Main Street attack the food on warm days.. Then I saw what was happening.. The TV news was there to cover the Chargers game at 7 PM and a Charger Booster club was coming in to watch the game. We finished our meal and the booth we requested was still empty along with 4 others (photo below). When leaving I approached the manager and told her that I was very disappointed about the Booth we were given and that is no way to treat a local resident who has spent upwards of 5-7 thousand dollars over the 14 years I’ve been coming here and I won’t be coming back and when Chevron Contractors from out of state .. And there are many of them with pockets full of money..ask the local (me) where to grab a beer after work , I will recommend The Standard Station .She pointed her finger at me and said we will get along fine without you and your buddies, will still get plenty of business from Chevron.. I am very disappointed with her response.. I would expect better from the restaurant manager.. But that is the kind of immaturity we see now days from the generation of 20-30 year olds

We have an update.. We received a telephone call from Rock and Brews management team.. I’m guessing they got our telephone number from our reservation..They doubled down. after reading this review.. Instead of apologizing to us about the callous behavior of their manager, the Management Team recommended we don’t come back to the establishment. Apparently the shift manager fabricated and embellished the events of the night to make it seem we were somehow in the wrong .. The entire conversation the woman spoke down to me like I was her 5 year old child.. I am 58..!!From this point forward I will be taking the fellows to the Standard Station for Sunday Monday and Thursday night football. Honestly wish i could give ZERO stars… from start to finish we had a pretty bad experience. Coming from three adults who have worked in restaurants where we typically give the benefit of the doubt and we know what it’s like to feel swamped there was little effort to make this a positive experience. It took ten minutes to be greeted or acknowledged that we arrived at the facility to be sat in the seemingly empty establishment, a few bar patrons and two other tables sitting. Waited for two highchairs for over 20 min. Employees were scarce if not almost impossible to find. We were not approached by a staff member to order drinks or anything for at least 15-20 min after sitting. We were ready to order and again after waters and one beer arrived we waited another 15 minutes before seeing a server come onto the floor at all to grab someone’s attention. The food we got was sub par if not quite disappointing after waiting 40 min for two salads , potato skins, and a French dip. Tried to order two different types of beer on tap(they were out) the beer i ended up with “their signature beer” was 1/4 full of head(foam) . Ordered some large salads with missing items that were listed on the menu for them. They were out of pulled pork sandwhich my mother tried to order. I ordered the potato skin appetizer with four potato halves that were about 3 inches in size( see photo) that costed $13 we were in shock with what was delivered to the table. Asked for the check immediately as we had spent well over an hour and a half in the restaurant unexpectedly and just wanted to get out. I don’t know if they were short staffed or something was going on but many other patrons seemed to be waiting and looking around for some assistance from staff also. I have never once in my life been compelled to write a review for a business but this was absurd. I have been to many other Rock and Brew locations and loved my experience and food but this one was NOT that at all. We were sadly very disappointed in the amount of money spent for a bad meal and poor service....

My wife and I came here last night to eat and we had a terrible experience. We sat down at our table and 15 minutes in, no server had come to ask for our drinks. We had wave someone down just to get our order in. My wife order the street nachos and asked for no lime aioli but when the order came in her request wasn't fulfilled. I ordered the rockin Hot wings with some fries on the side and when my ordered arrived my wings were cold and I didn't get my fries. When I received my wings we asked if we can get utensils and said they were going to bring them right away. The utensils never came, so I had to eat my wings with my bare hands, we did ask another server for plates and utensils, but only brought us one plate for the both of us and still no utensils. Throughout the night we asked multiple servers if they could turn on the patio heater because my wife was cold and each one said okay and walked away from us without turning it on, towards the end as we were about to leave they finally turned it on but it was too late at that point. Also, as we were trying to enjoy our food, the bill had arrived about 5 minutes after we received our food. It seemed like we weren't important and were pretty much ignored throughout the night, we left, didn't tip, and won't be coming to this location ever again, we'll be going to the Redondo Beach one from now on since the service there...
