The Etown Home Depot has been a rollercoaster experience 😅 While they usually have a better selection of lumber than Valley Station, Menards has a better selection than Lowe's and Home Depot combined. My first rating is at the bottom but here's an update: We put in an order online- a $11,000.00 order- and they emailed and text saying it was ready for pickup about 6 days after the order was placed. So I hook up the trailer, gas up the Silverado, and head from the northernmost side of Ft Knox/Otter Creek, to Etown. I get there and wait the usual 20 minutes in line for them to tell me "Your order isn't ready yet. It's still being picked right now." 😑 Okayyyyyy.. well I need to grab a few things so I'll go shop and pick out a couple of paint supplies and colors, and grab some self adhesive vinyl tiles.....45 minutes later.... Still waiting....so we end up getting a partial pickup- and had to come back to Etown SEVEN MORE TIMES AND STILLLLLLL NEVER GOT THE ENTIRE ORDER AND HAD TO ARGUE WITH ONE LADY WHO WAS ACCUSING ME OF STEALING!!! I just spent 30 grand in 2 months AT Home Depot and put gas in my truck EIGHT different times to pick up ONE order....I ASSURE YOU I AM NOT TRYNA STEAL A $12 PACK OF VINYL TILES 😂🤣😂 ANYWAY- Carlos is the literal BEST and so is the really beautiful blonde chick that works in paint!!!! So my 4 star stays because the people make it all worthwhile!
Hmmm.. My 1st experience at the Elizabethtown store🤔 ...well, Home Depot has a better selection of the brands I prefer (DeWalt, Milwaukee, Behr, 3M, Quickcrete..) HOWEVERRRRRR The time it took me to check out though- I was in line waiting 25 minutes just for someone to acknowledge that I was waiting to check out. They seem to be a bit understaffed but everyone was very helpful before I got to the line 😅 it was just a longgggg process. All in all, I love home Depot and I get almost all the materials for my...
Read moreWhile the selection at Home Depot is a tad better than their competitors, if you have read any of my reviews before, you may know I am a huge advocate of world class customer service. Needless to say, the customer service here is not to par. Many employees do not know their stuff when talking to them. They totally rely on the computer instead of simply speaking what they know. For example, we were looking for a mitter saw, which we saw in another store and didnt get it but then was able to locate it online. Even after explaining this (in more detail) to the employee he gave us a challenging time about ordering a completely different saw online and having it shipped to the store. Way left field from our discussion. If you work customer service...no, the customer is not always right.... but just listen. One of two things will happen, you may learn something or the customer may learn something. At any rate, I found the same saw through a different online retailer and that is where my money will go. This is not supposed to be a rant post but just help people when they come in and need something. Be that person that goes out of the way to provide great unforgettable customer service. This Home Depot does not do that. Hopefully management...
Read moreUpdate on shopping experience from my trip to this store on 06/04/2022:
I had decided to stop by and pick up some Reflectix material for a project I wanted to finish. When I arrived the parking lot was pretty trashy, cart return had worn out banners on them and the store was very overwhelmingly messy. I had the hardest time trying to get around in that location with just a regular shopping cart. It was not a good experience and I am hoping this was just a one time thing. At one point, I had to walk across a boxed item on the floor just go get to the item I was trying to purchase.
Last Wednesday evening my S/O and I stopped here to get my S/O a new pocket level. As we drove in the parking lot we noticed the parking lot lines seemed to need some repainting, which made it harder to park appropriately in the spots.. we were greeted by the cashier on the contractors side as soon as we walked through the door. We were able to find the product we were looking for pretty fast, so our shopping trip was under 10 minutes from start to finish. We wanted to look at some tool bags, but seemed like the selection was limited due to low stock. The store was pretty quite and appeared...
