What to say about the Elizabethtown dog park. The dogs love it and that's the only thing that matters, but I feel there could have been so much more done with this place. I have five dogs and I love to take my littles to the dog park, however I am in a wheelchair and it is not easy for me to get into. The parking lot is gravel which is never fun for a wheelchair user and then there is a 1 inch step up to get in. Then once you are actually in the yard there is a little pathway for people to walk but if you're in a wheelchair you can only go so far. There is little to no shade if you are there on a blazing hot day or really sunny day. The watering station is ridiculous and most of the time is turned off, there is only 1 (bring your own bowl and gallon of water). I do like the dog park and something is better than nothing but I feel like they did the least work possible and more could have and should have been done with this dog park but this review is just for...
Read morewe started bringing our husky here since it’s the closest dog park to us. it’s nice, pretty big and usually has some pretty nice people there. however, without fail every single time, someone brings their tiny dogs into the large dog area. this has caused us to leave a few times because it’s easier to leave than deal with drama from another dog owner getting mad about large breed dogs playing too rough with their tiny dog. how about you go to the small dog park instead? i wish there was a way to enforce the weight limit. however, i wouldn’t complain if they made the large breed park like 40 or 45 - 100 pounds instead of 30. keep the small/medium park for small and medium size dogs and the large park for the actual large dogs… if this wasn’t an issue, i’d give this...
Read moreA great off-leash dog park in the heart of E-town. There are two separate areas, 1 large area for dogs over 30 lbs and a smaller area for those under 30 lbs. Both area are completely fenced, have some shaded areas, and running water to fill dog bowls or let your dogs drink from direct. Most pet owners take care of pet waste on their own, so there really isn't a "landmine" issue. There are waste bags and special trash cans for those used bags. Additionally, both areas are well maintained and the Freeman Lake park staff do their best to ensure the park...
