We’ve been to HoneyBerry in Hoffman Estates plenty of times. We were in the area & decided to stop at this location thinking it would be a good experience. Well, we were wrong. We started off being seated at a table that had a big puddle of water on it from who knows what since it should’ve been wiped down. No biggie since it was at the other end of the table. Our server took a minute to greet us as when she stopped by we put in our entire order from the drinks to the food. Coffee took a minute to come out, weirdly enough another server dropped the coffee off & we requested whipped cream on the coffee which there was none. Okay, again not a big deal its just whipped cream right? Now our food comes out being dropped off by the food runner. Server doesn’t check on us till half way through our meal which was very frustrating since one of the dishes came out incorrect. When we told her she apologized & blamed the mistake on the kitchen & asked to fix it. At that point I am already irritated & the food is already half eaten. I am not gonna send it back. & I know it wasn’t the kitchens mistake based on the receipt. The bussers cleaned off the table once we were done. Our server comes to drop off the check keep in mind this her 3rd time stopping at the table. Another server who was walking past let her know that the check was ready through your guys speakers. It is absolutely ridiculous how neglected we were. She only had 2 tables including us. We seen the buss boys & the other server who’s section was next to our table more than our own server. I would highly recommended not putting our server in the same section since its very obvious she couldn’t handle it since we were on the wall & her other table was in the bar area. Very...
Read moreThis is a little bit of a mixed review so lets get to the good stuff first. Most of the dishes are excellent. Everyone of the pancake options are amazing. Their yogurt parfait is great and the carnivore skillet is crazy good. Just bring a second person to help you eat it as it's huge. Coffee is always fresh and hot. The avocado toast just ok. It is kind of bland and boring. Honestly, the honey berry out on 59 does this dish better.
The servers for the most part are great. I've had a couple of occasions where things would get mixed up or the server would disappear but this is not common but it does happen and this is where the mixed part of the review comes from.
When Honey Berry first opened they had a few first week issues but they had management that cared. I never got her name but the morning manager was on her game. She was always present on the floor and would check in with tables. If you needed something she was there and she got things done. At least once during every visit she would stop by the table to check on us. This is what is missing today.
I honestly couldn't tell you if they have a manager on duty any longer as there is just a bunch of confused teenagers at the front counter that can't do anything other than show you to your seat. You ask a question and they just look at each other with no direction. There is no one around for those rare times that something needs to be addressed. If there is a manager on duty, they need to be more available.
In closing. I still love this place and we still go there as often as my schedule allows. My recommendation is to find a server you like, get their name then request them when you walk in. If you get a good server, the rest of the...
Read moreThis is our first time trying this location, as my husband went to the boilingbrook location and had good things to say. The wait time was almost non existent, which should have been the first sign for this time of day on a Sunday. The atmosphere is atheistically pleasing in a white woman’s instagram feed kind of way, if you’re into that.
I ordered a Bloody Mary. The menu stated more things would be inside of the drink that were not added, which is not that big of a deal but I felt it worth mentioning. The food came out almost too quickly. I ordered the homestyle Benedict. It was bland at best. The poached eggs were severely undercooked (if you serve brunch and cannot poach an egg, what are you even doing?) and the sausage parties were very obviously frozen at some point. The biscuits were also flavorless.
My husband ordered the lox and a bagel with a side of 2 over easy eggs. His eggs were also severely undercooked. To the point of there being a puddle of egg whites on the plate. The menu gave no indication that the lox and bagel would be served in an adult lunchable type of way. The tomatoes were nearly a half an inch thick with 4 slices of rolled up salmon to make the serving size appear bigger. It was also served with thickly sliced cucumber for whatever reason. Cream cheese came in a plastic container out of a cafeteria and the bagel barley seemed toasted.
Service was wonderful. We did not mention any of this to our server as none of this was her fault, we do feel she would have been deeply apologetic if we had however.
All in all. We do not plan on coming back, I don’t think you...
