We wanted to try a new pho restaurant and thought we give this place a try. We found it randomly online and decided to try the place out. The food was actually ok, we thought it was good. But the thing that made it a bad experience was that one of the Hispanic waitress who wore glasses had a horrible attitude and was rude towards me for no reason. I asked her If I could get a separate sauce for the spring rolls with out crushed peanuts in it. I don't eat crush peanuts in any type of spring roll sauce or egg roll sauce. She then had the audacity to get upset and started shaking her head at me in disbelief as If I did something wrong. She then continued to stare at me in disbelief while shaking her head as If I did something wrong. I was literally going to ask her why she was shaking her head at me as If I did something wrong, and was even going to tell her that I would even pay for that sauce even though we were DINING in. I told the other waitress that she was being rude towards me for no reason at all because I ask for a separate dipping sauce with out peanuts in it. The other waitress that I was talking to about the incident told me not to worry and that she has a ticking problem. I'm not sure if that's true or not but she stood there looking directly at me being rude shaking her head in disbelief. I was about to ask for the manager and let him know that she was being rude towards me but decided not to. How the hell are you going to get mad at some one asking for separate dipping sauce with out peanuts in it shaking your head and staring at me in disbelief as If I did something wrong? We have been to plenty of other Pho restaurants and asked for dipping sauce with out peanuts and have had no problems. We have been to many Asian restaurants and have asked for other types of sauce or for what ever we needed with out having no problem while dining in. If it irritated that Hispanic waitress that much to ask for dipping sauce with out peanuts in it, she should not be working there. I didn't appreciate that at all, that really mess up our experience there. We actually love Pho and Asian food. That Hispanic waitress with glasses working there is poorly trained , and If she is going to continue acting like that she should not be working there. I honestly think she would of rolled her eyes and shake her head at me if we were to have asked for...
Read moreI love pho, so I was super excited when I saw a "Pho Plus" sign appear over the storefront of the old Five Guys. Every time we drove by, I would look over to see if it had opened yet, and now - it has! And I have been back twice already. So, not only is it pho closer to home, but it's good pho, too!
I have so far tried the pho tai (my go-to pho), the beef noodle pho (where the cut of meat is a little tougher), the beef salad, crab rangoon, and taro bubble tea.
Everything we tried was really good, but the pho tai is still the best pho pick, IMO. The beef salad is pretty different than what I'd usually get from a Thai restaurant (never had the Vietnamese iteration before), but still tasty. Crab rangoon received high marks from my husband, and he is a bigger fan of those than I am, so probably worth an order if you are a fan, too. The taro bubble tea was tasty, and the boba were overall good flavor and texture-wise, though there were a few overly dense ones in the bunch.
The restaurant has a water dispensing machine that you can use to fill up a provided metal cup - overall, this combination lends to the water having sort of a machine-y flavor. FYI.
If I could change one thing, I wish they might offer the pho in a smaller size, too, because the one size they do offer is the humongous bath tub size you often get at pho places. I love pho, but my stomach can only hold so much!
Oh, and maybe one more thing - I always adore a good banh mi, so if they were to add banh mi to the menu eventually, I would have to give them at least ten stars. ;)
Finally, do note that the restaurant is a little self-service. You place your order at either a touch screen or the counter. We've only ordered at the touch screen so far. If you go that route, you enter your cell number to be texted when your order is ready, though we've pretty much just taken note of when they are placing our stuff on the tray and gone up to get it. Once we've finished eating, we've just bussed our own table (bringing trays and dishes to an area near the back), at which point a staff member is standing by to wipe down your table for...
Read moreBuddy and I had lunch here. We had the same dish, the Special Pho.
It was very good. I'd it's one of my favorites.
4+ stars for flavor
5 stars for lots of fresh and quality ingredients
5 stars for generous portions. Their pho is 2X the size of other's regular pho and 1.5X the size of other's large pho. Yet the price is about the same!
This place gets what so many restaurants just don't get. Inflation is a reality for everyone. So prices must go up. Pho Plus has clearly adopted a great philosophy. Yes, we must raise prices, so we aren't going to nickel and dime customers on the quality and quantity. We're gonna give the high quality and big portions! For those who are still not getting it... it's called, "GIVING PEOPLE THEIR MONEY'S WORTH!" What am innovative concept. Sheesh!
5 stars for service. You order at a kiosk. You pick up your own food when it's ready. And you return your own tray and dishes to the designated area. So you don't have to pay a tip. But guess what, this guys who hates being pressured to give tips, VOLUNTARILY left a tip when it wasn't at...
