Food is great don't get me wrong. They have a rule that they will not allow credit card / debit card payments if the card is not signed which is understandable. My office is down the street from Portillo's so my coworkers and I order food often, When I go to get food at this specific location I always have 2 or more separate orders that I pay with multiple different credit/debit cards for the orders (all are signed). Tonight the young lady at the register denied the (signed) credit card because I did not have an ID to verify the card owner... the manager came up to the register because he noticed that the cashier was getting upset as well as myself. He then told me that he cannot accept the card unless there is an ID. I then told him that I come here all the time and I never had an issue until today. I mentioned that on the wall with the "rules" that it says that the card needs to be signed if the card is not signed they are allowed to ask for a photo ID. This was very upsetting because the manager gave an attitude and seemed like he did not care that this was an issue to me. The workers at this restaurant ALL needs to be aware of the rules some can not accept the card and then others can. It should all be consistent.. I worked a restaurant for many years before and EVERYONE in the restaurant that worked at the cashier register was aware of the rules and not once was there an issue similar to this. To end this little sh-peal of mine is that the rules NEED to be CONSISTENT . There should not be an up and down roller coaster of different rules so there will not be any issues like this . It will make the workers work day a lot less stressful and it will make the customers a lot...
Read morePortillo’s….The place to go, especially if you’re in the metropolitan Chicago area, for the best in italian beefs or sausages. Tonight I visited the Rolling Meadows IL location on Golf and New Wilke rds. My order consisted of a combination Italian beef/Italian sausage sandwich with sweet peppers, a small french fry, a cup of cheese sauce for dipping, a small coke and a slice of lemon cake for desert. This is one of those meals where you can’t help but get excited for the mess that is about to ensue. No sense trying to fight it. This is easily a 10 napkins per person affair. You’re not doing it right if you don’t have the aus jus from the sandwich dripping down your chin, traces of cheese sauce on your fingers because this sandwich is that hard to contain. Don’t be embarrassed….embrace your inner child and go to town on that sandwich. The fries were equally enjoyable. Piping hot, crispy outside and fluffy inside. Once you polish off the main entree, it’s time for some of the most decadent lemon cake you will ever put into your mouth. It’s cool, refreshing and moist. No milk needed to get this cake down. This particular establishment is clean, staffed by friendly people and they make it a point to get your food to you fresh and hot. From start of the ordering process to me receiving my food was less than 4 minutes. Not bad considering I visited this location in the middle of dinner rush. Price is a little high for what Portillo’s is. My single meal with tax was $23.01. Can’t really complain though, because as I said, the food was fast, fresh, and hot. Whether you live in the area or are just visiting, give the Rolling Meadows IL Portillo’s a try, you will...
Read moreI went to the Portillo's in Rolling Meadows, Illinois and prior to placing my order, I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and the water was cold. I spoke to the manager, Mya??. I told her about the situation and she responded, it's cold outside so the pipes are cold and that's why the water is cold. I told her that I live down the street in a condo and the pipes run through the street and I have hot water. She responded, this is not a condo and I can put a ticket in and then she asked is there anything else I can help you with? Prior to responding, she turned and walked away! She had no concern for her customers nor the community she serves. She lacks customer service and problem-solving skills. Before I left. I asked the cashier for the manager's name and she responded, I can't give you her name?? Then the manager came out and said it's Mya.
I promptly contacted Department of Water to file a complaint and contacted corporate. I spoke to a corporate rep and she assured me that she would look into it immediately and she said that there was no ticket request on file made by that location regarding operating with cold water only. She was concerned about the situation unlike Mya. I told the rep that it is illegal and a health violation to operate a business with cold water only due to hygiene, hand-washing, and food preparation which she completely understood.
I have been a customer for over 25 years and I didn't appreciate the service I received 😑 poor!! I will await for a phone call from that location with a resolution and an apology from this...
