OH BOY. LET ME TELL YOU.
I live in EGV and will travel 100s of miles to never come here again. My husband and I came in for my birthday on 11/8. The first part was a mistake on our behalf. I had told him to make a reservation but he didn't. Oops. That was on us. However, everything after that has no reflection to our little oopsie.
Walk in, told the hostess we wanted a table for 2. I have a broken foot and they only had high tops available. Well. Unfortunately I can't sit there. They found a table in a section on the end of a corner that we can sit at. We were super thankful, and they were very busy at the beginning. We sat there for a bit, waiting for our waiter. A gentlemen came by said his name was like Ethan or something like that. He wasn't sure as it wasn't his section if he would take our drink and food orders.... like sweetheart, isn't that what a waiter/server does? He looked down, we didn't even have menus.... we'll now were 0/2 for people we spoke to and getting the night off on the right note. So he grabbed menus for us. We looked it over, and had come to a consensus on drinks, apps, and sushi. We awaited the server again but had leniency because, like I said before, they were busy.
When we finally saw someone our section server had walked by, and our not server/server literally stops him in front of our table and asks if he's taken our order. Wow, that's a conversation you can have literally anywhere else in front of our table. The section server says no and we get our not server-server telling us he'll just "take our order". Well. This is going swimmingly. Not. No asking about any special events we're celebrating. No common decency in the fact of having and tact on how to serve.
I told my husband after we got our food (The only redeeming thing about this) that we will never come back here again.
It's a month later that I'm writing this and I'm still scathing mad. I don't care if it wasn't my birthday or my husbands, you don't have discussions like that tableside where the customer...
Read moreI frequent new sushi/ ramen restaurants at least once or twice a week. I Guess you can Say i know what good sushi/ramen tastes like. Everything was exceptional. I have a lot of respect for the customer service provided by every one of the staff. I own my own business and take a lot of pride in the work I do so to me every little detail counts in making the customer happy. Upon walking in great atmosphere and big smiles from the staff followed by “welcome in” I’m greeted by Ethan and Michelle had great conversation at the bar just like seeing an old friend after years. I tried the old fashioned which I frequent at any restaurant I go to. Very good! Perfect actually! Next was the mango smoothie, California roll, and spicy miso ramen. Exceptional. I love the mango smoothie presentation, great taste couldn’t ask for it to have been better. California roll can’t go wrong great texture in rice and fresh ingredients. Tekka Sushi’s take on spicy miso ramen is also a great choice not too spicy not too mild, egg cooked to perfection. Slightly different taste than the typical spicy ramen I’ve tried in other places but still exceptional none the less. If every ramen Hope nothing for the best for Tekka Sushi...
Read moreWe’ve been to this place a few times, but today was definitely our last visit. Every time we came, the staff was unfriendly, but this time they outdid themselves. The girl at the reception pointed at the menu with her finger without saying a word, no smile, just an overall rude attitude. The staff is consistently mean toward guests. When you leave a tip, they look at you with a dissatisfied expression and ask, “Is this the tip?”
Last time, they charged us a 20% gratuity without informing us in advance, just because it was Saturday. We were surprised
They used to have good sushi, and that alone made it worth putting up with the staff’s bad attitude but today I almost gagged on the rolls — there was something in them that felt inedible and crunchy, like a shell or something (and they cost $26! (First position in menu ). It was one of the most disgusting things I’ve eaten in a while. The Philadelphia roll was sour, as if the ingredients were spoiled.
This visit completely ruined our impression of this place, which we once thought was decent.
Really...
