Very wonderful experience! As someone that has tried Oz, Gangnam, JJ’s, Gen House, Bulta, and Blue House (ranking / preference in that order), this one definitely can slot right next to Oz.
First, the cons, the menu felt a bit limited and the meats don’t feel as good of a cut as Oz, and the meats don’t have a great selection of marinated (mainly soy/garlic which is pretty light on the flavor). They also don’t list desert until they offer at the end (ice cream) so not sure why that wasn’t on the menu.
Pros: Absolutely super tasty home-made popcorn chicken. Beef Bulgogi is solid. Cheese Ramen and most standard appetizers like the Jap Chae tasted slightly better than the rest of the KBBQs. Scallion salad was absolutely delicious too like a nice umami salad. Jeon (Korean pancake) was a big hit too.
The wait was only about 5 minutes at 830PM on a Saturday whereas Oz and others were like 60-120 minutes. So that was really nice. Atmosphere is beautiful too- maybe because it’s relatively new but I love the vibe.
Lastly, as others have said, the service is absolutely A+. They did like 5 grill changes for me, legit we ordered the Korean pancakes and it came out before the server was even done taking our order (because it’s on a tablet). Super fast. Servers and extremely friendly and feel genuinely nice. They explained many dishes we weren’t sure about in good detail and they did so happily. Servers kept checking on us too.
A unique thing at this restaurant is you can get a half order too! Which was awesome because sometimes you just want to try things and don’t want to waste. So I ordered half on a ton of things just to get a try. Super smart and helpful!
Even though the meat wasn’t quite as good as Oz, it was still solid. The service, speed, atmosphere, appetizers, and half order option more than makes up for the shortcomings. It may not be everyone’s favorite, but I do think you’ll have a solid experience here for sure. Keep...
Read moreI'm a huge fan of Korean dramas on Netflix. For our anniversary, my daughter took us to Ember Korean BBQ so that I could experience the fun and delicious foods I'd seen in all those shows. Charlie, the owner got wind of the occasion and my fantasy and personally came to our table to welcome us and explain the best way to choose from the menu. Later, he returned several times to help us get started using the brazier built into the table and checked our progress. The restaurant itself is very modern and open and every table has its own cooktop with an exhaust fan to whisk away the smoke. We were surrounded by large happy families, groups of friends and couples. The food was delicious and many sides were provided to accompany the abundance of meats and vegetables we cooked. Kyle, our server, was attentive and informative. We had such fun cooking our meal and our granddaughter loved watching the sizzling brazier. I was tickled to get to eat the marinated pork belly and drink soju just like my tv shows. The entire experience was a delight and I look forward to returning many times in the future and sharing Ember Korean BBQ with friends...
Read moreThis place has just opened and for a place that is fairly new they have done it all right! Starting at the beginning as I walked into the establishment we were greeted right away with friendly smiles. I was impressed by how nicely clean and wide open the establishment was. As we waited for additional party members show up we made our way over to their large bar and again we were met with friendly greetings. When our party showed up we were taken to our table where again it was nice and clean. The service is where I think this place won me over. There was not one time during our whole time there that I had to wait for service. The food was amazing and the flavors were wonderful! The owner came out and even made recommendations he recommended the rib fingers, by far one of the best tasting cuts I've ever had at a kbbq place! From start to end one of the best dining experiences that I've had in a while! I will for sure be...
