As a Bay Area native, I would argue that I've consumed enough tea and boba that they likely make up at least 10% of my blood volume at this point in my life. With that little confession out of the way, I must share that ever since I've relocated to the Sacramento region, T% has quickly become one of my (if not THE) favorite tea shops in the area.
T% is a fairly new chain to the boba gang; however, they have quickly made a name for themselves and now boast 5 locations in the northern California area. With a motto proclaiming they provide "freshness that you could feel, quality that you can taste", T% really set a goal for themselves - one which I believe they fulfill very well with their hand-crafted drinks.
Located in the Calvine Corner Shopping Center, T%'s Elk Grove location offers plenty of parking for patrons who want to stop in and pick up a drink (which if you've read enough of my reviews, you probably know I have a strong dislike for driving and parking wherever I go to done is always a big plus in my book). Upon taking your first step into the shop, you'll be hit with a wave of pink - and I mean it. Their interior is almost all pink complete with some neon signs, (fake?) cacti decor, and a small seating area for you to take a rest while waiting for your drink. Admittedly, their pink decor is not for everyone, but I have to admit it does make for some aesthetic photos.
I arrived on a warm Sunday afternoon where I like many others was looking for something to help cool me down as I braved the hot Sacramento sun. Ordering is simple and straightforward - completed on a touchscreen monitor located in the shop. Although there were a number of other patrons before me, I waited at most 10-15 minutes for my drink, which I feel is fairly reasonable. As I mentioned earlier they have a small seating area, which I utilized while waiting for my beverage.
My personal go-to at T% is their lychee flamingo topped with lychee jelly. Their lychee flamingo is a blended lychee fruit tea with lime slices added in - the perfect summertime drink especially on a hot day. True to their motto, you can really taste the freshness and quality of their drinks as you can clearly taste the flavor of the tea and the fruit truly shines through.
If you're looking for your next tea spot in the Sacramento area, then I highly recommend giving...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. I am done with this company and their employees rude behavior. Itâs just so embarrassing to me and the community that I live in that a company allows their Employees to openly be rude and discriminatory. I have been to this location on multiple occasions and have never even received decent service. When I and people I have came with asked questions we were ignored and simply stared at. We eventually figured out what we wanted to order and ordered it. Mind you we used our best manners as usual and were still ignored upon entry and upon any thanks we gave the employees. At the end of one of my visits there to buy some tea, we asked the male employee over the counter if the lids were safe proof to shake our drinks and mix them, to which he said âyes of courseâ. As we attempted to Mix the drinks by shaking them, the drinks spilled. The employee that we asked in the first place proceeded to laugh in our faces and then walk away while conversing with another coworker. On another occasion we were waiting in line at 8:40pm (the store was closing at9pm) an off duty employee was in the establishment with what seemed to be her significant other talking the entire time with the rest of her employees staring and laughing at us as well as the rest of the customers patiently waiting outside in line since the store only allows 3 people in at a time. The couple did not leave until 9pm after both of their drinks have already been prepared for some time. The establishment also stated no dine in and they proceeded to do that as well. When the off duty worker left the other coworkers disregarded us as well as the rest of the customers who were already waiting outside prior to the close. If youâre going to ruin your own business for those who WERE supportive customers you might as well close the whole thing because now I am going to make sure everyone I know hears about your rude service. Wonât be wasting my time and money on you any longer and neither will the people...
Read moreIâve been ordering here for the last three years and until recently was a regular [addicted] customer. Lately though Iâve become extremely disappointed with the customer service and quality of the drinks. On several occasions when picking up an order Iâve been blatantly ignored while standing very obviously off to the side within view. This happens whether there is a line of ordering customers or not. Then Iâm treated as though theyâre annoyed by me once they do acknowledge. Despite this decided to give them another shot because I like their coffee and itâs close to home.
Today my partner went in and even after telling him they were waiting for the other drink in our order, placed the second drink off to the side and ignored him completely as more customers came in and received their freshly ordered drinks. They put him in the position to have to interrupt service/the line because they neglected to use common sense to acknowledge or follow up with him. It took him 7 or 8 mins to receive the second drink which is ridiculous especially after already checking in with staff. After all that, the drink wasnât made correctly (80% sweetness) and was sickeningly sweet (tasted over 100%) to the point we didnât enjoy it.
I wonât be coming here anymore, staff desperately need a real manager and training around positive customer service and multi tasking. Having an actual structure/process and signage around pick up orders would improve the experience as well.
I would also note the variety of drinks is pretty limited compared to other boba tea shops within a 2 mile radius. It feels like ownership doesnât have passion for the...
