Hellur, I get we are all dealing with hard times, and I’m all for giving a local business the benefit of the doubt. But this place is hanging on by a thread and my families bill probably kept the lights on another week. We live just a few hours from Nola and this food by far is a disgrace to Cajun cuisine. My twins who are 15 wanted a small bite, they ordered off the kids menu but instead of being told it would be extra because they aren’t under 12, the waitress went ahead and took the orders and then charged me almost $40 for shriveled up pathetic chicken strips and and handful of cheap frozen shrimp. I was fine paying extra if that had been stated, but the scandalous charge was very upsetting. On top of it the bread on my sandwich almost broke my tooth. We confronted the “manager” and he basically said “well did they look 12 or under?” So they obviously tell the waiters/waitresses to upcharge to the fullest extent if able. Makes sense since they are barely hanging on. Just be aware they pull a Mickey if able, we left hungry, disappointed, and extremely aggravated. Go to McDonalds before wasting $ here.

Update March 2025. Cooks or recipes have changed, taste good, but more island creole than Louisiana creole. Red beans and rice hardly have any sausage, so I go inside and ask how much can I pay to have a few pieces of sausage. The guy at the bar states he can add a link on for $8. I commented I don't need that much. So he goes and gets the manager, a petite middle aged brown haired woman who seemed to be insulted. I re- explained my situation and in a insulting demeanor she, the manager, added belittling comments, attempted to educate me on Louisiana cuisine and then insulted me when I disclosed where I was from, very unprofessional and uncall for, as here I am with a calm attitude smiling through insults and then she tries more insults to get a reaction. So sad. So after I allowed silence she asked if she could bring some out and that would be the end of it, and she did but also destroyed the trust I had in this restaurant as with the type of response I am thinking something was done to it, so no thanks, I will leave a tip managers server and this review of the cooks customer orientation.

We stopped here for dinner after a few glasses of wine at a nearby vineyard. The parking was easy and plentiful. The restaurant ambiance was appropriate with darling signs indicating their Louisiana roots. The bar was limited ,however, likely they could have made whatever we wanted and had all the basic items. Appetizer selection was good. Unfortunately, the gumbo was unexpected with tomatoes and corn; not consistent with the typical gumbo recipe. Otherwise, the servings were heaping with enough to carry some home! Service was excellent, very attentive and accomidating; what I consider great hospitality! We spent 80$ for our meal without alcoholic drinks. All in all, I would definitely go back

We have lived in Ellijay our whole lives but have never ate at Cajun Depot. Wanted something different tonight, so we figured we would give it a try. We’ve heard great things about this place, so we went in with high expectations. We called our order in at 6:00, they told us it would be be 30 minutes. We got there at 6:45. My husband went in & immediately came back out. The food wasn’t ready, but no biggie. He goes back in at 7:10. STILL WASN’T READY. He finally returned to the car at 7:25. An hour & 25 mins after the order was placed. We checked our order, good thing because an entire entree was left out, along with some sides. Called them & explained what had happened the girl was super nice, I believe her name was Tanner? She told me she would have it out ASAP. Forgot to mention the sides that were missing, so I called back. Second person was not so nice. Had no customer service skills at all. Had an awful Attitude and was very snarky. She told me it would be about 30 mins because our order was pushed back, there were other orders ahead of me. Absolutely ridiculous considering we had been waiting for over an hour and a half & they made a mistake. Not us. Finally went in to pick up the last entree, they assured me it was right. Apologized and said “We have just been busy!” I totally get that, I used to work in the food industry but can’t stand when the customer service is horrible. Especially when I’m paying $117 for a family of 4. I Honestly halfway expected a discount because of the trouble it had been, but that’s okay. Got home & it WAS STILL WRONG. My three year old niece asked for one thing & that was Alfredo noodles & it wasn’t in the bag. So I made them homemade and honestly it was the best thing I ate for dinner. 10/10 will never go back. If the hostess (Tanner?) sees this review, you were great. Sorry you have to deal with the...

First let me say this is one of my favorite places but today was terrible. 1. It took us 1 1/2 hors to get food, eat and checkout. 2. We were seated before a few guests but they had food 10 mins before we did. (Different waitress). Check messed up 3 times by waitress. At checkout she had no change we paid cash for two people. She went to get change then instead of coming back dropped off food to another table first. When she brought our change it was short. We asked where the change was and she said they rounded up when cash was paid. We have been eating here for 6 years that was the first for hearing that. If that was the case, we might have just use the credit card and paid the credit card fee. Also, when we arrived and asked her, did she have the blackened chicken for the lunch special since it wasn’t on the menu she said there wasn’t a lunch portion on dinner but she would go ask the manager. When she came back, she said oh yeah, we have that yet She told us she worked night shift at the restaurant so that should be something she should know.. I always get the red beans and rice and I will say that they were very bland this time and did not have the sausage in it. We also noticed when she was counting the money out in the other room near the bar to bring our change. It took her about five minutes, and she kept recounting almost like she didn’t know how to count the money back.. So we’re not sure if it was this waitress, just making things up out of thin air and very slow or if this is new to the restaurant. I really hate writing a bad review about this restaurant, but they need to fix the issue before it causes harm to their business. We would like to continue eating here since we have enjoyed it so much...

My first two experiences were the best. After the service I received yesterday, I will never go back there again. The service was lousy. When we walked in, I asked if we could seat in a booth and the hostess told us it would take 30mn of wait time unless we wouldn't mind seating at a table- for which I said yes. I thought she said 3mn at first but she corrected me with 30mn. The table she was referring us to was not cleaned but she took us to that table and put the utensils on the table. I kindly said, could you please clean this table. She came back with a rag and wiped the table without any desinfectant cleaner. We then sat at the table close to the door as another couple came in. The couple asked if they could sit in a booth and she told them it would take 3mn. I was baffled but didn't say anything. We ordered our food and it took forever to get our food. Even those who came after us got their food before we did. When we finally got our food, that was the day's special, it was undercooked. I had to send it back to the kitchen disappointed and had to wait another 20mn to get the food. Since we waited that long, we asked for them to pack the food to go. While at home, we realized they didn't give us the sides that came with the food. Now ask me, will I go there again??...
