I'm in town checking out Acadia. I'm in the parking lot doing laundry. I'm hungry, want a smoothie, and what's this? A cute lil spot that looks fantastic, what's posted on the window looks amazing.
I'll never know, however! (Preface: this doesn't usually irritate me enough to actually not continue in my patronage of a business, but there's a McDonald's 30 seconds away selling most of what they sell, so it's especially easy) because whoever that redhead was working the window just now on Saturday, August 23rd@5:36PM was so unnecessarily and atrociously rude, blatantly cruel, actually legitimately unsubtly (and quite uncleverly, might I add) condescending, for less than no reason, that I actually don't think whoever hired her deserves my business either while she is working there. I knocked on the window a few times (which makes this so much more egregious) and she ignored me, so I went around to the other window. she SCREAMED and then came to the window and yelled at me with an anger and intent to actually be harmful that I was shocked for a second, I thought she was joking, but then she doubled down, so I just walked away to write this. It was truly insane. Like, not sane. Fire this person, I promise you she is losing you SO much business. I'm contemplating going back and asking her name but I have to assume that the second this is brought up her bosses will know who she is, this can't be an isolated incident.
My order is already in at McDonald's lol this lady genuinely sucks I hope she becomes a better person or at least learns to pretend to
Edit 30 seconds later: omg lol there's a DQ another 10 seconds further, what do we say gang should I make the trek
Lmao this lady does not exist within a set of circumstances wherein she can afford in any way to be like that
Second edit: should have checked the reviews, I guess that's on me for going to a terrible location with a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate Two weeks after our first visit, we already were back at Aroma Joe's. This time, zero other cars in line and the barista was quick to make our drinks. Bumping up our stars from 4 to 5! Again, the coffee was superb, consistent like the last drinks we ordered, and the barista was great. This is definitely our new favorite coffee place.
Original We just moved to Maine and visited Aroma Joe's for the first time this past weekend. We're from the West Coast and I have to admit, we're a bit picky about our coffee.
To be on the safe side, we didn't order anything too crazy. We stuck to the basics - my husband and I both ordered 16 oz mochas and I got an extra double shot of espresso.
Can we just say - 5* coffee! The mochas were PERFECT! The barista told us they use chocolate milk instead of chocolate powder or syrup, which explains why the texture was so smooth. Why don't more companies get that? Nobody wants an inch of sugary goop left at the bottom of a $5 coffee. Our fav coffee place in Oregon uses choc milk too. Yay, Aroma Joe's!
Customer service was also fabulous. The dark-haired gal who served us was friendly, helpful, and earnest in making sure we were happy with our drinks. We'd go back just to order from her.
The only downside was the wait time. We weren't even in a hurry since it was a Sunday afternoon, and we were still surprised how long it took when we only had three cars in front of us. From the other reviews, it's clear the owners are already aware of the issue and are working on improvement. It's really the only thing that kept us from giving a 5* review.
Ultimately we're still willing to wait longer for fabulous coffee and good customer service. We'll absolutely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo sorry for the long post! Wow wow wow! Where do I start?! Firstly, I'd really like to start by praising Brian/Bryan (not sure if it's with an I or Y). This guy went above and beyond I would ever expect from a coffee shop and being someone who's visiting from the Caribbean, he has to be one of the happiest/proudest workers I've ever come across and to be real, all of my experiences with persons from the New England states have been incredible but this young man is exceptional! Definitely needs to be the manager if he isn't already. Secondly, the seemingly endless options and customizations that are possible at Aroma Joes is insane! AROMA JOES! Please start opening in more places! You'll are the spot to visit whilst my family and I have visited. We started in New Hampshire and now Maine. Thirdly - let's get back to Bri(y)an! This gentleman was patient, courteous, understood that we had many restrictions from dietary to baby needing warmer temperatures to not consuming anything with gelatin, to top it off, he took it upon himself to ensure these restrictions were met with comfort. 10 stars all...
