Someone recommended The Fish Hut and we went for lunch. Beprepared to wait a while and in the heat, but the wait is worth it! This small restaurant boasts an amazing, robust menu that makes the wait seem more worthwhile. You must wait in line while they serve one by one, but don't worry, they come by and get your drink order while waiting in line. I wasn't sure about the order-at-the-counter concept for a seafood place, but I was wrong, and it works. Drinks came out quickly and were very good. Fried shrimp tacos, soft shell crab sandwich, blackened fish tacos, and a side of coleslaw were all delicious. The absolute beach of a come-as-you-are, laid-back, beach vibe. Family-friendly, reasonably priced. A friend recommended this place, so we decided to stop by for lunch. Be prepared to wait for a while in the heat, but trust me, the wait is worth it! This small restaurant has an impressive and diverse menu that makes the wait feel worthwhile. You'll need to stand in line as they serve customers one by one, but don't worry—the staff comes around to take your drink order while you wait. I wasn't initially sure about the order-at-the-counter concept for a seafood restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it works well. Our drinks arrived quickly and were very good. We tried the fried shrimp tacos, soft-shell crab sandwich, blackened fish tacos, and a side of coleslaw, all of which were delicious. The atmosphere has a laid-back, beachy vibe that makes it feel like a casual spot to hang out. It's family-friendly and reasonably priced, too! A four due to a wait outside in the heat.

Went here with some friends based on the reviews. The reviews about a dedicated gluten-free fryer are false. I was told they try to keep a fryer gluten-free but they don’t have a dedicated one. To be truly gluten-free the fryer would need to always be gluten-free or be deep cleaned in between gluten and no gluten. As a Celiac I would not trust the fryers here, but encourage others to ask questions and make your own judgements based on your own dietary needs. The few staff members I talked to also seemed to not know much about any of my questions about gluten and cross contamination practices which were simple basic ones. It did not instill much faith in the safety. However, I am glad to report I did not get sick. The staff were friendly, which is carrying the rating for this experience but it unfortunately did not make up for the rest of the experience. Parking is very limited and almost impossible to get a spot. I personally would not return due to Celiac safety and cleanliness concerns, the price for what you get, and the vibe was just not my style. My large Chicken Salad came in an average fry container and cost $15. I’d hate to see how small the small is. For those that like fried food, a laid back but not relaxing, honor system, serve yourself drinks including the beer cooler (which I find to be a dangerous idea since it is easily accessible to kids/teens), kind of vibe this might be for you.

What a fabulous, colorful and fun place! We were driving by and the colors and crowd drew our attention, and when we looked it up and saw the 4.6 rating, we knew it was our lunch spot. You wait in line to order at the counter. There's someone to greet you at the door and take your drink order and explain the system. We ordered the Blueberry Jalapeno Margarita and the Strawberry Cilantro Margarita. Once at the counter, we ordered the Blackened Fish Tacos (grouper) for $14.95 and on the staff recommendation, we ordered a small Cole Slaw for $2.95 and the Beans for $2.95. We went to get a table outside (there were options inside as well) and our drinks arrived a minute later. Both margaritas were very good. The fish tacos were fresh and cooked perfectly. The small serving size of the beans and slaw were surprisingly large. The cole slaw was lightly dressed with mayo and very crunchy. The beans were a mix of two types and were incredibly flavorful. The staff checks on you regularly, allowing you to add anything to your open order at any time. After we finished, we waited in another line to pay at the register. The whole fried fish also looked spectacular and there were so many enticing items on the menu. We want to come back and try some more. Very limited parking in the shared lot. 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Came upon Fish Hut Grill accidentally and so glad we did. We were looking for a place to eat dinner and saw what looked like a fun place. We were met by the owners dad who encouraged us to try the tacos. There were so many good choices on the menu of every type of seafood. We decided to try the tacos with a wide variety of types and ordered the blackened fish Tacos. I have tried many restaurant tacos and without hesitation these were the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly flavored and prepared as I enjoyed each bite. The fries were crisp and perfect as a side.Delicious and can wait to return to try other specialties.

Service was quick and extremely friendly. We sat outdoors at a table and waited for a short period for our orders to come. We noticed that they allow dogs at outside seating and water if your friendly dog was thirsty. This is done at restaurants all over Europe and I was glad that your dog would be allowed to accompany you as you enjoy your food.

We built our Ocean front family cottage at Emerald Isle in 1989. It was one of the first to be built here. Not a large fancy cottage, but filled with so many family memories. Much has changed as it was back then, but so glad that we found a local seafood restaurant using fresh local seafood to enjoy with each visit. Good luck and see you...
