Walked in, the place was busy, that's fine We didn't mind of course. I told the young host at the front that the four of us would be sitting at the bar to drink. He said it was fine and we walked to the bar. 5-10 minutes or so passes. We understand that on a busy night it may take a while to get service since we also own and operate our own Mexican restaurants. However things went awry after a waiter who had walked by and saw us three times asked us if everything was ok. We explained to him that no one had come to take our drink order and that it would be nice if he could possibly take our drink order. He then proceeded to ask us if we had a "number" from the front. We told him that the young boy that was seating people down up front told us that we could go to the bar and seat ourselves. He then replied (in spanish) "Well that's why you're not getting service, you don't have a number" and just walked away without explaining what he meant by that... we all looked at each other in a weird way of how the customer service was that night. We then decided to walk up and leave.. Again, we understand that it is a busy night, however, We own Mexican restaurants ourselves and know that you never talk to customers like that. You see customers at the bar, you greet them and take their order. We didn't know about their "number" policy because the young boy at the front just said "go ahead and seat yourselves wherever you'd like." It was obvious they didn't...
Read moreFirst time and last time. I will never eat at this place again.
The Food: I ordered the fried beef chimichangas, a favorite of mine. It wasn't edible; it was like they'd opened an old can of beef stew, extracted the beef part, and shoved it into a burrito. The tortilla was soggy, fried chimichangas are supposed to be crispy. The beans tasted very strange, though I can't explain what exactly was wrong with them. Probably a lot.
It felt like an episode of The Twilight Zone. It was definitely NOT worth $14.95; there's another Mexican restaurant on the island which is a lot better AND less expensive, and the two have pretty much the exact same menu.
The Ambience: The setup was less than ideal. Most of the restaurant was contained in a single room. The tables were very close together, and it was so loud that at times I struggled to hear the people at my very own table. Prior to trying the food, I said to myself, "it's okay, we just won't come back during peak hours on a Friday." Since the food was so gross, there's no reason to go back at all.
The Service: it was pretty quick, but most of the servers seemed in over their heads. They weren't very friendly, but I don't like it when wait staff...
Read moreVisited for the first time tonight. We are big Mexican food lovers so we thought this would be a great spot. I ordered a frozen house margarita and it came with only sweet mix and ice crushed. No tequila or sour at all. I had to ask the waiter twice for lime just to finish the drink.. yuck! The queso-fundido came out with no quesso and just meat. Yuck! We ordered very plain and not complicated food. The waiter said "oh it's better if you order it this way." The food came out very different than expected. My son's quesadilla had cheddar cheese in it... never ever seen that in Mexican restaurant. My husband's quesadilla was burnt on the outside and there was so much grease inside he dumped out the meat and didn't even bother with the bread. Yuck! My daughter's order was wrong too! When the bill came out was almost $100 because the waiter's advice on ordering gave us less food for more money. When we asked about it Kevin the waiter just said "I ordered what you told me" and was very flippant. He was too busy flirting with the young and drunk girls at the table behind us! Will not be going back and will tell others we...
